Origin and Importance of the Guild
Guilds are structures that are very common to find in Web2 games and also in Web3 games that bring together several players online. However, the idea of guilds emerged in the Middle Ages when a group of people who had common interests in a certain area came together in an organization that aimed to ensure the safety and provide assistance to members who were affiliated with the institution. In games, although it is a completely different reality, it has maintained the essence of bringing together people who have common interests and helping members to achieve the final goal, which in many cases is the progression of the character.
In games in general, guilds are usually divided into two main classes. The first are the competitive guilds, which seek to reach the top rankings within the games, focusing on constant PVP, with a constant rotation of members, because they seek to retain only the best players. In Web3 games, it is very common to find this type of guild, because there is the Play to Earn element involved. The second class of guilds are the Casual ones, which bring together more "relaxed" players, whose objective is to interact with PVE (Player Versus Environment) content, which would be missions and Bosses.
However, in some games this organization of people, known as a guild, ends up being one of the fundamental aspects, because in addition to helping with progression with missions and events together, guilds are where your main friends are within the games. So, oftentimes, the playing part ends up taking a back seat and players come in more to socialize and have fun interacting with other guild members.
Origin of HoloGuild
In a world where the digital world is much more advanced, trainers use the Holo-Lens equipment to enter the world of HoloZing, a widely known game by the population that consists mainly of trainers who capture and battle other trainers with their creatures. Early on in the development of HoloZing, the developers thought about a system that would allow trainers to interact with each other and battle within a safe space, so that wild creatures would not interfere. Thus, they began to build the HoloGuild, an organization that spreads across the various cities within the game, with a headquarters in each one, being the main structure within HoloZing.
HoloGuild Functions
The first essential function in any guild is a Chat system between the members that belong to it, to generate interaction between the players and for them to More experienced members have a way to communicate with newcomers and organize a party to do a boss or event. This would be the guild's second function, to be a place where players can meet to do events or bosses together. Also, the HoloGuild would have a Bounty Board, so players can do individual missions like capturing a certain creature from the HoloZing.
Thus, with these functions, the HoloGuild would have the part of bringing together people with the same goal that has been around since the Middle Ages to the present day in games, and also an event and mission system that could reward players, being part of the game's Earn. One suggestion to improve things would be to add a Leaderboard of players and guilds on a holographic screen that would show the names of the Top 10, a way to encourage players to continue evolving.
