What is satoshi?
What is satoshi?

Satoshi has two meanings. The first is the smallest part of bitcoin. The second first part of the nickname under which the creator or bitcoin creator is hiding.

Satoshi - the smallest part of bitcoin

Just as the dollar is divided into cents, bitcoin is divided into satoshi, the smallest unit of account. Except that the bitcoin value should be given to eight decimal places. Therefore, the high price of bitcoin should not deter anyone, because you can buy up to 0.00000001 BTC, or just 1 sato, or satoshi. The split of bitcoin into satoshi is also useful on cryptocurrency exchanges when buying altcoins. Most altcoins are bought for bitcoins, so the price of altcoin is expressed not in US dollars, but in satoshi and amounts to e.g. 100 satoshi, i.e. 0.00000100 BTC

Satoshi Nakamoto

Satoshi in the second meaning is the name or nickname that the creator of bitcoin signed in his whitepaper and on the classic bitcointalk forum, active in 2009 and 2010, i.e. in the first phase of the project's existence of this decentralized and independent, global, first cryptocurrency and the first use of blockchain technology . Later, hearing from him was lost. To this day, despite many years of efforts of various people, Satoshi Nakamoto's true identity has not been established. To this day, he has not moved his bitcoins, which are now on the original wallet. Snute are guessing that Satoshi Nakamoto is dead, imprisoned or behind a group of people, not one man.
