Good day everyone,
I hope you are all having a good day, welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things crypto. In this post I will be look at how former US President and election candidate Donald Trump marked Bitcoin's White Paper Anniversary.
Trump Marks Bitcoin’s White Paper Anniversary
With the United States presidential election only days away, Republican nominee Donald Trump took to social media on the 31st of October to celebrate the 16th anniversary of the Bitcoin White Paper. He made the most of the opportunity as he criticised his election opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris while also reaffirming his stance on crypto. Trump posted:
“I would like to wish our great Bitcoiners a Happy 16th Anniversary of Satoshi’s White Paper. We will end Kamala’s war on crypto, & Bitcoin will be MADE IN THE USA! VOTE TRUMP!”
The comments made by Trump regarding Bitcoin arrived just as the cryptocurrency experienced a brief dip into the high $68,000s before it moved back above the $70,000 mark. It came as a reflection of the positive response regarding recent United States jobs data. That report showed that there was lower than anticipated job growth and in turn that strengthens the market expectations of an additional rate cut from the United States Federal Reserve.
This represents a softer economic outlook and when it is combined with the steady consumer data it shows a favourable environment for risk assets like Bitcoin. As the year continues into its final months these macroeconomic conditions may continue to support Bitcoin’s price stability and potential for further gains.
Trump's strong stance on blockchain and digital assets during his campaign has seen him pledge to fire current Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Gary Gensler if elected. Trump has openly criticized the SEC’s regulation-by-enforcement approach to digital assets and he has advocated for a more supportive regulatory environment. During the September 2024 launch of his family’s crypto platform, World Liberty Financial, Trump stated:
“If, for some reason, bad things happen and we don’t win the election, those who are free as a bird right now in the crypto world could face scrutiny the day after the election if they win.”
Meanwhile Kamala Harris has pledged to support innovative technologies like AI and digital assets as part of her campaign. He focus has been on the protection of consumers and investors. As part of her proposed economic plan, alongside running mate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Harris has emphasised the creation of fair digital asset regulations and engaging with Black male voters who are considered a key electorate that could swing the election. Her campaign released a recent agenda which stated:
“She will make sure owners of and investors in digital assets benefit from a regulatory framework. This ensures that Black men and others who participate in this market are protected.”
Have a great day.
Peace. CryptoGod-1.
