Good day everyone,
I hope you are all having a good day, welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things crypto. In this post I will be looking at the recent news of Tigran Gambaryan having all criminal changes dropped.
Tigran Gambaryan Free
The Binance executive who has been held in a Nigerian jail since April, Tigran Gambaryan, has had all his charges dropped and is free to leave the country. For the past eight months the executive has been detained as part of a criminal investigation on charges of money laundering and tax evasion. Strangely, it was Gambaryan who pioneered cryptocurrency tracing as a law enforcement technique and on Wednesday a court in Abuja ruled that the criminal charges against Gambaryan will be dropped on medical grounds. This came about following pressure from the United States government.
Gambaryan was detained last February along with another Binance executive, Nadeem Anjarwalla. In March Anjarwalla, who works as Binance head of Africa, managed to escape, but Gambaryan has been held in Kuje prison. According to Gambaryan's family his health has severely deteriorated in that time as he has suffered acutely from a herniated disc in his spine that requires immediate surgery. He also contracted malaria but the courts ruling will be a welcome one as he will be able to travel abroad to seek medical attention.

Despite the court's decision to drop the charges against Gambaryan he had to return to jail following the ruling. This was according to Patrick Hillman, a former Binance executive and colleague of Gambaryan's. He noted:
“We’re all kind of waiting right now to hear that he’s on a plane, airborne, and headed home. Until we have verification of that, we’re all just clutching our shirt collars and waiting to make sure there are no other hiccups.”
Gambaryan had previously served as an IRS criminal investigator for a decade and his detainment came about following a dispute between Nigerian government and Binance over its history of money laundering and the exchange's alleged role in devaluing the Nigerian national currency. The family of Gambaryan declined to comment on the matter following the recent ruling, which came days after Gambaryan was once again denied bail. Nigeria will continue its criminal case against Binance but for all involved it is a welcome piece of news that Gambaryan will finally be free to return home and be with his loved ones.

Have a great day.
Peace. CryptoGod-1.
