Welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things crypto. Today I will be doing a short write up about some recent news which is very good for the mainstream adoption of Cryptocurrencies.
Ralph Lauren New Miami Store
Announced on the 4th of April 2023, the US luxury fashion brand Ralph Lauren has decided that its brand new flagship store in Miami will be the first of the brand to accept Cryptocurrencies as a form of payment. The brand new initiative has been made possible thanks to a partnership between Ralph Lauren and cryptocurrency payment service provider BitPay.
Located in the comprehensive commercial area “Design District” within Miami, the new Ralph Laurn store will sell luxury label items such as “Men’s Purple” and “Women’s Collection”, as well as accessories such as handbags exclusive to the Miami store. Personally this means little to me but for those inn Miami who have a keen sense in fashion, I am certain they will be delighted at the news.
The store will allow customers to pay for items through the use of 14 different cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Polygon (MATIC), Dogecoin (DOGE), and USDCoin (USDC). An interactive digital screen will be installed within the store which will allow customers to view items available in North America, update their wish list and book styling appointments.
Miami was apparently chosen “because it is one of the most Web3-friendly cities in the world and has a vibrant community of start-ups, brands and luxury consumers,” according to chief innovation officer, David Lauren. He also hinted that success in Miami with their first movement into the Web3 and crypto space could lead to the possibility of opening similar luxury stores in other cities in North America, Europe and Asia in the future.
Hopefully this will be the beginning of more luxury and top brands adoption crypto as forms of payments, as the more use that the crypto space has, the better it will do.
