Good day everyone,
I hope you are all well and having an excellent day, welcome to CryptoGod-1’s blog on all things crypto. A recent survey in France has revealed that around 1 in 5 French workers would like to be paid in cryptocurrency if they had the option, showing how the influence and adoption of crypto is becoming more and more appealing around the world.
French Survey
A survey conducted by the French payroll software provider Payfit had concluded that French workers would like to receive all or part of their salaries in crypto, according to the French media outlet Cointribune. The survey showed that 20% of French respondents would be happier to completely move away from traditional fiat salaries, and instead get their payments in the form of crypto. The CEO Amaury Lelong announced that he found it difficult to fully understand why so many respondents said they preferred crypto salaries.
Among the highest in favour of the approach would be younger people, which is unsurprising really, as 31% of those aged 18 to 35 were “in favor” of receiving their salaries in crypto. Men are also the most interested in this happening, with almost a quarter of male respondents wanting their salaries paid in crypto.
The data went on to find that those employed in larger companies were less interested in the idea, with over 80% of those employed by companies that have over 500 employees rejecting the idea. Along with that, a further 79% of those working in positions such as business owners, doctors, lawyers, and company executives were also against the idea.
Amaury Lelong did note that the responses showed the wider “upheaval” in the relationship between work and finance, noting:
“It is a fact that the world of work is undergoing unprecedented change that is linked to technological, societal, and environmental developments. Since the arrival on the labor market of the Millennials and then of the digital natives, we have observed a marked [...] change in the relationship people have toward work. And, more generally, [we have seen change in] the role that work plays in people’s lives.”
Even though the survey gives an interesting take on the general public's view towards crypto, the digital assets is still seeing increased levels of adoption in France. Many have claimed that inflation is a key component in why the citizens are looking towards crypto, as the French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire claimed that while France has almost vanquished the inflation crisis of last year, it will still face stronger price pressure in the years to come.
Earlie in June 2023 France also got the positive news of some of the nations largest shopping malls accepting cryptocurrency as a form of payment, while the nation saw a profit of around $448 million from crypto trading this year.
Have a great day.
Peace. CryptoGod-1.
