It has recently been announced that FC Barcelona, one of the biggest football clubs (soccer) in the world, is entering a partnership with the NFT creators "World of Women" to release a second collection.
FC Barcelona and World of Women
A 'Masterpiece' collection is due for release by the non-fungible token (NFT) project World of Women, and they are doing it in partnership with European football giant FC Barcelona. The collection will be known as 'Empowerment', and the artwork will be inspired by Alexia Putellas. Alexia is a renowned Spanish football player and the current of the FC Barcelona women's team, while also representing Spain at the international level.
Alexia Putellas and FC Barcelona are both strong advocates for female empowerment in sports and are known for promoting gender equality and equal opportunities for women and girls within the industry. The hope is that their collaboration in this NFT project will further highlights their commitment to these important causes.
Alexia has been a player for FC Barcelona since 2012, and along the way she has been the winner of even league titles, seven Copas de la Reina, and two UEFA Women's Champions League trophies. She also played a vital role in the 2020/21 season when Barcelona won the Champions League as well as the continental treble, both being the firsts for the team.
Owning the NFT's
For those who go ahead and purchase an NFT from the collection, they will have access to a range of premium benefits that provide the ultimate Barça experience as a holder. These benefits will include a Meet & Greet with Alexia Putellas, while will offer a personal opportunity to meet the world's best female player, along with a pair of signed soccer boots. A unique item will also be given to owners of the Empowerment collection, as a physical seat taken from Spotify Camp Nou will be emblazoned with a portrait of Putellas by the renowned Catalan artist Oscar Tusquets and signed by the player herself before being given to the holders. This physical piece will be a compliment to the NFT, providing a tangible work of art.
The collection will be available for sale from the OpenSea marketplace from June 26th to June 28th 2023. FC Barcelona see this as the second collection from their overall plan of ten collection within their "Masterpiece" collection.
