Coffeezilla Tricks Dillon Danis into Promoting Fake NFT Project

Good day everyone,

I hope you are all well and having an excellent days, welcome to CryptoGod-1’s blog on all things crypto. Today I will be looking at the recent goings on of Coffeezilla, who I am sure you are all well aware of by this stage. If not, you can check out my previous posts regarding how he exposed Logan Paul in the Crypto Zoo scam late in 2022 and early into 2023 here:

Who is Dillon Danis?

Born on August the 22nd, 1993, Dillon Danis is an American Mixed Martial artist who competes in the welterweight of the Bellator MMA. He started wrestling as a freshman in high school despite the fact that he "couldn't do one pushup," and at 19 he moved to New York in order to actively pursue a career in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

In 2016, Danis become known to the wider mixed martial arts community after he was asked to join the training camp of famous UFC fighter Conor McGregor. He do so as a coach and training partner ahead of McGregor's rematch against Nate Diaz at UFC 202. HIs list of accomplishments include:

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

IBJJF Pan Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship
  • Purple belt medio: 3rd place (2012)
  • Brown belt medio: 2nd place (2013)
  • Brown belt medio: 1st place (2014)
  • Black belt pesado: 1st place (2016)
IBJJF New York Spring International Open
  • Brown belt medio: 2nd place (2015)
  • Brown belt open class: 1st place (2015)
IBJJF New York Summer International Open
  • Brown belt medio: 1st place (2014)
IBJJF Boca Raton International Open
  • Black belt medio: 1st place (2015)
IBJJF World Jiu-Jitsu Championships
  • Brown belt medio: 1st place (2014)

However, he has been accused of not fighting in his agreed upon fights in Bellator. He has cancelled agreed-upon fights, including when he withdrew from a boxing bout with YouTuber KSI. Bellator's CEO, Scott Coker, is apparently agitated with the lack of fights from Danis in the cage, and stated:

“Dillon Danis, as he said, we take money from his purse. We don’t take money from his purse. Just like that. I talked to his manager the other day and I keep asking him what do you guys really wanna do? Really, it’s up to you guys. We can’t make you come fight but we also have to have realistic expectations”

How exactly did Coffeezilla 'Trick' him?

Simple put, Coffeezilla and his team enticed Dillon Danis into promoting a fake NFT via his social media. The reportedly paid him 1,000 to do the promotion, and after checking the post by Danis made sure to bring it to everyone's attention via the Coffeezilla Twitter page. The big issue they are bringing to light is how Danis went about promoting the project. At no point did Danis mention that he was paid to promote the NFT, instead he merely Tweeted "Check this out! SourzNFT Candies are Moonbound! #NFA"

You can see this Tweet below on the Coffeezilla Twitter page, when they screenshotted the original post from Dillon Danis which has since been deleted.

Coffeezilla goes on to state that the entire project is fake dedicated at raising awareness and information about the other scams Danis has been involved with throughout the crypto space. If a user tries to mint one of these NFT's they will be redirected to a website which is entirely devoted to all the scams Danis has done before, with a page heading of "Have you been Scammed by Dillon Danis?"

Personally I must say this is quite ingenious, not only exposing the previous scams he has done, but getting Danis to promote it himself. The website outlines how Danis promoted the crypto project with zero due diligence and was happy to promote anything once he got paid. It goes on to state that they have discovered over 20 NFT and crypto projects which Danis has been involved in which turned out to be scams. Everyone of them saw Danis getting paid to promote the project online, and although Danis tried to delete and hide the evidence, Coffeezilla and his team has shown screenshots of everyone of them. The website can be found here: https://sourznft.com/dillondanis/

Outcome

As with any Coffeezilla investigation, one should always expect a YouTube video to drop referencing the scam and investigation. While it is not available as of yet (that I have seen anyway), Coffeezilla did promise this is not a Fake and that a video will be following soon. While it is unlikely to have an immediate impact on Danis or his work, it is nice to see some exposure coming his way. If you check out the website and all the Tweets Danis has made, it is clear he has been involved in perhaps one scam too many for Coffeezilla to ignore. I for one am looking forward to watching this one play out, and any potential responses which Danis might make in regards to it. However, he should definitely consult his lawyers before hitting back, and should just ask Logan Paul if he thinks otherwise.

Interesting times ahead for Dillon Danis as Coffeezilla is likely to leave no stone unturned in this investigation.

Have a great day.

Peace. CryptoGod-1.
