Coffeezilla Responds to Logan Paul’s Defamation Lawsuit

Good day everyone,

I hope you are all having a good day, welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things crypto. In this post I will be looking at a recent video posted by Coffeezilla, where he responds to the Logan Paul Defamation Lawsuit against him.

Coffeezilla v Logan Paul (Again)

On Monday the 5th of August 2024 Coffeezilla, the YouTube personality Stephen Findeisen, released a video to address Prime co-founder Logan Paul’s recent defamation lawsuit against him. Coffeezilla notes that the lawsuit is 'groudless' and that it is likely an attempt to silence his investigations in Logan Paul's businesses.

Coffeezilla accused Paul of creating a major scam via his CryptoZoo NFT game. During the course of video, Coffeezilla looked to assist those impacted by the game in recovering their investments. While Logan Paul did announce a $2.3 million refund initiative, Coffeezilla has criticized the plan due to it being insufficient. The 'buy back' scheme only covers 12% of the loses while he claims those who accept the refund will be required to forgo further legal action.

Back on the 27th of June this year Logan Paul filed a lawsuit against Coffeezilla. The defamation lawsuit contained 47 pages, and it claimed defamation over videos related to Paul’s non-fungible-token (NFT) project CryptoZoo. Within this lawsuit it is claimed that Coffeezilla made false statements which alleged that Logan Paul was operating a scam.

Paul’s lawsuit targets Coffeezilla’s coverage of CryptoZoo and it specifically notes two video and a tweet where Coffeezilla advocated for full refunds to the victims. Within the lawsuit it raises questions of Coffeezilla's character, and his characterization of Paul’s actions. It also accuses Coffeezilla of malicious intent. The suit is seeking $75,000 in damages, but just over a month later Coffeezilla has countered with his response.

Coffeezilla noted that Paul had previously praised his investigative work and this in turn may undermine his cause. The YouTuber suggested that Paul’s past commendation of his journalism shows that he has no malice, and that is crucial in proving defamation. He went on to state that Paul's ongoing success with Prime shows his reputation is still intact and those who consider him a scammer did so before Coffeezilla's investigation.

As part of his response Coffeezilla also questioned the timing of Paul's lawsuit as he noted it came about shortly after he featured Paul in a video teaser and requested a comment. Coffeezilla noted that the lawsuit might be intended more to silence him than to win in court. Coffeezilla also concluded that he expressed his belief that Paul’s actions aimed to stifle his reporting.

“Paul can attempt to silence me by weaponizing the law, suing me for doing my job, and for asking questions.”

A copy of the video response on YouTube is shown below.

Have a great day.

Peace. CryptoGod-1.
