In this post I will be looking at the collaboration between Fetch.ai, SingularityNET, and Ocean Protocol to merge their tokens and create a new, super-powerful AI token called Artificial Superintelligence (ASI).
Artificial Superintelligence
The announcement of the merger between the three giants of AI was made back in March 2024, although the merger will not be a simple straightforward swap. Currently each token holds a different value, and ensuring a fair and equal transition happens is of paramount when they are being exchanged at different rates.
The announcement has stated that 1 FET will be exchanged for 1 ASI, while 1 AGIX will convert to 0.433350 ASI and 1 OCEAN to 0.433226 ASI. After the merger, there will be a total of 2.63055 billion ASI tokens.
The merger will happen in two phases, with Phase 1 taking place on the 1st of July 2024 and focusing on consolidating SingularityNET’s AGIX and Ocean Protocol’s OCEAN tokens into Fetch.ai’s FET tokens. The second phase will begin in mid July and will engage the community and introduce the new ASI tokens. FET will continue to trade as rebranding takes place across various platforms. This process is scheduled for several years to provide its investors and users ample time for conversion of their holdings.
The three platforms behind this singular token are:
Fetch.ai - a web3 platform that uses AI to build a new economy by enabling autonomous agents to perform useful economic work. It is a Cambridge-based AI company and is redefining the possibilities of an intelligent and connected world through its AI agent-based technology.
Ocean Protocol - a decentralized data exchange platform designed to safeguard data privacy and security. Their tools enable businesses and individuals to trade tokenized data assets seamlessly to manage data all along the AI model life cycle.
SingularityNET - the world’s first decentralized Artificial Intelligence (AI) network, which allows anyone to create, share, and monetize AI technologies at scale. It was founded by Dr. Ben Goertzel with the mission of creating a decentralized, democratic, inclusive and beneficial Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).
These companies will create a robust platform which will harness each ones individual strength to create a decentralised future for all. Their overall aim and goal is to advance toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and, eventually, Artificial Superintelligence (ASI).

The AGI systems will be AI systems which can perform any human task with at least the same level of competence as a human. ASI goes beyond this, referring to AI systems that surpass human capabilities in every way. While we are not there yet, the rapid advancements in AI technologies, such as ChatGPT and other Large Language Models (LLMs), suggest that we might not be far off from this advanced future.
