Andrew and Tristan Tate had $500,000 in BTC Seized

Good day everybody,

Welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things crypto. I am sure we are all aware of the news that Andrew Tate got arrested after his online spat with Greta Thunberg, in which a pizza box apparently outed Tate's location and allowed the police to arrest him. The news story has been an ever-growing saga and now the latest news which has emerged is that the Tate brothers had nearly $500,000 in Bitcoin seized by the authorities.

The (False?) Arrest of Andrew Tate

Back in late December 2022 Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan Tate, were arrested in Romania's capital, Bucharest. The popular former kickboxer had rose in fame for his apparent treatment of women, with Andrew being kicked off Big Brother over a video which appeared to show him attacking a woman, and being banned from social media platforms for comments regarding women should "bear responsibility" for being sexually assaulted. Along with his ultra-luxurious lifestyle, Tate had earnt money through his 'Hustler University' where applicant would pay to learn how to become an ultra-masculine male similar to how Tate presented himself.

According to a spokesperson for the Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT), Tate had been under investigation since April 2022 and along with his brother and two other suspects, were investigated and arrested due to:

"The four suspects... appear to have created an organised crime group with the purpose of recruiting, housing and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content meant to be seen on specialised websites for a cost."

On the 15th of February 2023, with Tate still under arrest, it was revealed via a Tweet that a development into his legal case revealed that there was evidence to prove he was being framed. This evidence was gained via wiretaps of two victims who previously accused the Tate brothers of kidnapping. Whether this will prove Tate's innocence or not remains to be seen, but it is damning evidence against the prosecution if it turns out to be legitimate.

As shown in the image below, if credible, the women had been conspiring to frame Tate in an attempt to earn money from the case, along with likely considering their exposure and the potential fame which they could gain from it.

In an ever increasing world of social media, and trial by social media, former girlfriends of Tate surfaced to defend him and his brother. One, a Slovakian woman, posted a TikTok video where she defended Tate and accusations against him. There had been videos circulation of him apparently hitting her in the face, pulling her hair, and hitting her with a belt. However, she claims all this was just part of their consensual "sex play." It was not abuse according to her, but 'consensual foreplay' and there was never any physical domestic violence. She went on to explain how she does not like "seeing injustice of him being called a woman beater."

While only time will tell whether or not the claims against Tate are true or false, there is no denying the damage it has caused him thus far.

Tate Had 21 Bitcoin Seized

To add to it all, it has been revealed by a spokesperson for the Tate brothers that they had around 21 Bitcoins seized. Digital wallets holding the Bitcoin, worth in and around $465,000, were seized as part of the investigation. Within this amount are:

Andrew Tate Wallet - 5 BTC - about $110,000

Tristan Tate Wallet - 16 BTC - about $355,000

While still held in custody due to a refused appeal in the Romanian courts, where prosecutors claimed Tate poses a flight risk, rumours swirl that there is plenty more Bitcoin which has not been seized as of yet. Apparently Tate had brought in more than $2.5 million in digital currencies as far back as January 2022, according to data from blockchain intelligence firm Elliptic. This digital currency was earnt through the sales of membership to Hustler's University, which had a monthly $49 tuition fee.

Below is a video showing Tate's opinion on Bitcoin, somewhat ironic considering he claimed he 'wanted an asset the government could not take.'

He also claimed to have earnt millions from his own trading, which is akin to his luxurious lifestyle. Tate is also known to have previously bragged about using Crypto instead of bank transfers, claiming he could avoid using banks thanks to crypto. This could be used against him as part of anti-money laundering information requirements, with Tate having stated in an online clip:

"Whereas with Bitcoin, I press two buttons, it costs me 35 cents and it's done in three minutes. That's why Bitcoin will never go to zero."

Whether that Bitcoin got sold, sent elsewhere, or is hidden in cold storage somewhere remains to be seen, but for now, a lack of safeguarding his assets means both Andrew and Tristan Tate are out in and around 21 Bitcoin. It will be interesting to see if more follows, or, if as alluded to above, Tate is released from his charges with the new evidence alleging his innocence. Either way for now the Tate and his brother remain in jail until the 27th of February 2023 at a minimum.

Have a great day.

Peace. CryptoGod-1.
