Good day everyone,
I hope you are all well and looking forward to this weekend's matches, welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things sports. We kick off with a Friday night clash between two teams who could be dragged into a relegation battle if they don't find form soon, a return for Gerrard to Anfield on Saturday, and a great weekend for the 'big-three' to all pick up points in fixtures against bottom half sides. Also to note Spurs have a COVID-19 outbreak and their games are off for the foreseeable future.

Predictions
Now for the most exciting part, as I go through the latest info regarding each team to make an attempt at predicting the results for this weekend. Remember this is just my fun analysis and should not be taken as advice or a guarantee.
Brentford - Watford
This game has goals written all over it. Brentford have been the surprise package so far this season, with a strong start to the season falling off track once their injuries started taking hold. With Ajer and Raya out, they have been leaking goals. Ranieri meanwhile has gotten his Watford team scoring for fun, with it likely to be a high scoring game. It’s difficult to spilt these teams, and most likely it will come down to one goal if there is a winner. I am going to back a 2-3 away win for Watford.
Man City - Wolves
Wolves put up a good display against Liverpool last time out, only loosing to a late winner by Origi. They have looked solid at the back and a very organised unit. Man City look the real deal this season even without a recognised striker. Wolves with all their attacking options are struggling to score, while City don’t like to concede. This game should see City taking the points, although Wolves won’t make it easy for them. A tight game, if City score early it will be game over for Wolves. I can only see one winner, and I am backing City to win 3-0 at home.
Arsenal - Southampton
This should be a very interesting match. Arsenal have a solid defence and goalkeeper, and are facing a team underperforming up front. Southampton should be higher in the table than 16th, and are known for their fast starts to games. If Southampton turn up and can get at Arsenal from the off, the could grab a shock lead. Whether Arsenal will be able to keep them at bay and get a grip on the game remains to be seen. A close contest, but history is on Arsenals side. Another game where I will back the home team to win, with a score of 2-1.
Chelsea - Leeds
Chelsea are finally hitting the balanced road of conceding goals. Before they faced United last month they have only conceded 4 goals in 12 league games. They have conceded 5 in the 3 games since then. Chelsea had been over performing and as often happens these things tend to balance themselves out. As for Leeds, they have had an upturn of late but will be badly missing Kalvin-Phillips. Leeds tend not to turn up when he is missing, and their performances against the top half teams often sees goals conceded. I can only see Chelsea getting back to winning ways after the disappoint in conceding late to Zenit and loosing top spot of their Champions League group in midweek. A 2-0 win for Chelsea as far as I’m concerned.
Liverpool - Aston Villa
This game will see Steven Gerrard return to Anfield for the first time in the opposition’s dugout. Villa have been impressive since Gerrard got appointed. They are playing a compact style and very dangerous on the break, similar to Weat Ham when Liverpool lost to them earlier in the season. The Reds on the other hand are very difficult to go against. A much changed team in Europe against AC Milan did not stop them getting 100% in their group. Origi has popped up with some winning goals again of late, and is demonstrating that Liverpool have reliable strength in depth. I can’t see anything other than another Liverpool win, with them getting a 3-1 victory at Anfield.
Norwich - Man Utd
This should be another game where Rangnick can experiment with his squad. The 4-2-2-2 used midweek showed he knows how to get players like Ronaldo into his team and have them still pressing. While Norwich have impressed under Smith since he took over, even moving off the bottom, they are still up against a squad full of talent. A fast start from United will be expected, and unless Norwich can nick a surprise goal I can only see this going one way. 1-3 for the away side to continue Rangnick’s revolution.
Brighton - Tottenham
This game is postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak at Tottenham.
Burnley - West Ham
This game will pit two tough defences against each other, but there should only be one winner. Burnley are sitting in the relegation zone and this might be the season they finally drop out of the top flight. They can turn up on their day, but I expect West Ham to pick them apart. The hammers have serious belief of pushing for top 4 and have excelled against teams in the bottom half. With their European adventure still ongoing, the away fans will be driving them forward to get more points on the road. Expect a tough encounter, but West Ham to score on the break. A final score of 0-3 is what I’m expecting.
Leicester - Newcastle
Rodgers is in dire straits at the moment. Admitting he doesn’t even know what the Europa Conference League is shows ignorance to me. They were always at risk of dropping into it, so he should have made sure that didn’t happen instead of acting too good for it. I feel his time might be coming to an end if he cannot rectify the defensive issues which have become apparent this season. They are too vulnerable at set pieces, and Newcastle will hope Wilson can take advantage of that at a corner potentially. At the same time Maddison and co could easily tear Eddie Howe’s team to pieces, with slick football and great goal scorers. Both teams need the points for very different reasons, Newcastle to help beat the drop and Leicester to get their season and hopes of European football next season back on track. Anything is possible in this game, and I think it will end square with a 3-3 draw.
Crystal Palace - Everton
After beating Arsenal last Monday, Everton and Rafa will have breathed a collective sigh of relief. Everton have a great record against Palace and have not lost to them in the previous 13 meetings. Similarly Palce have lost their last 3 games, and this could be another banana skin for them. Rafa will want to take that confidence for their previous match and continue the good from. I think this will be tight, with Vieria wanting to impose his teams style on the opposition. Tactically this should be a great encounter, and I think it will end all square with a 2-2 draw.
Have a great day and enjoy the weekends games, which should see some very exciting matches.
Peace. CryptoGod-1.
