The Crypto Faucets That I Use

Part 1: Click Faucets

Through my time in the Crypto space I have used many different faucets to varying levels of success and I figured I would share my successes and failures. Those that I currently use and those I have left behind. For the faucets I currently use I will break them into two groups, true free faucets and pay to click faucets, as they provide very different results and require varying levels of involvement. In this post I will just focus on the free faucets which only consist of a click and subsequent deposit of Crypto into your wallet. Just to set expectations going in none of these returns are much at all but for those, like me, who are interested in learning about new projects, like seeing a number slowly tick up, and enjoy finding new faucets these have worked for me.

Algorand Faucet

This is a faucet that pays out small amounts of Algorand once every day based on shares given for submitting every 3 hours. Taking a look at my transactions I receive around 0.005 to 0.006 ALGO each day (see transactions below). One thing to keep in mind here is that the faucet does require you to hold a small amount (0.1 Algos) in your wallet to be able to claim. As you can see this is not much, but as Algorand is proof of stake there are extra rewards in terms of staking. I would provide my staking rewards as well but there is no transaction of Algorand staking rewards as they are distributed with each block. It is indicated to be 7.2% (on 8/27/2021 within atomic wallet), will vary with time and location of stake. In the past two months I have gone from 14.1408 to 14.519088 ALGO, with gains approximately split into 0.08 in staking rewards and 0.3 faucet rewards.

Gridcoin Faucets

Gridcoin is an interesting project based around providing rewards for contributing extra computing power to scientific computing. Though it also has staking functionality connected with the research rewards that can be utilized without providing computing power. However, a substantial amount of GRC is necessary to have much of a chance of receiving the 10 GRC given to a staker each block. For example, with my wallets current balance of 16.71 GRC I have an estimated staking frequency of 0.03 times per year. There are a few faucets for gridcoin and I will go through each of them here.

First there is an hourly faucet which pays out between 0.01 and 0.40 GRC (subject to change). These tokens are paid out hourly in bundles. There is also another daily faucet that pays between 0.05 and 0.5 GRC. Finally I have found a discord channel with a bot that allows you to claim a small amount of GRC every 24 hours (rough estimate of 0.1 GRC). To my knowledge the amount you hold in this wallet is grouped and staked so you also obtain staking rewards for the faucet rewards here. The discord also provides a wealth of information about the project and other things.

CAIT and TACO

CAIT provides a faucet on the wax chain that gives small amounts of secondary currencies within the chain. It currently provides CAIT, GNOKEN, AETHER, KOALA, and PUFT which can be claimed between every 1 and 24hrs. Similar and connected is the TACO phone app that has an hourly claim button for TACO. Each of these tokens can be exchanged to WAX, albeit small amounts of WAX. They also can be input into liquidity pools which earn a percentage of liquidity source fees and CAIT provides airdrop LP rewards as long as you register for them and hold the right LP pairs. Furthermore CAIT can be staked for a 12.5%  yield currently. Unfortunately I can not easily provide a good display of these deposits with WAX due to the number of transactions I make which would muddy it up but I have provided a snapshot of some of the LP airdrops and faucet rewards. Wax also has some play to earn games like alien worlds but that is not quite a faucet and there is enough for it to be its own post.

Pipeflare (Referral Link)

Pipeflare is another faucet I have used for a while and it provides faucets for Zcash (ZEC), Dogecoin (DOGE), and FLR. Each of the faucets can be collected daily with ZEC currently being sent weekly, DOGE having a minimum withdrawal of 1 DOGE, and FLR currently being untradeable. The claims are on the order of 0.000001 ZEC, 0.004 DOGE, and 70 FLR. These are in no way big rewards but it isn't nothing I guess. I have received ZEC as shown below but have not reach the 1 DOGE necessary to withdraw yet (at about 0.5 DOGE currently). FLR tokens can also be staked on the site for between 1 and 5% depending on lockup time. One thing to be aware of with pipeflare is that they try to sell you on supporter packs which for me do not provide value. So be careful and only buy into something you have done the research for and believe will provide value to you.

Horizen Faucet (Referral Link)

The final faucet of the list is the horizen faucet which pays out ZEN every day. The average pay out is about 0.00003 but this is dependent on completing a variety of multiplier tasks. For example, holding more ZEN in your wallet provides up to a 3x increase to faucet rewards. Not much else to talk about here though.

If you have any questions about any of the faucets listed or my experiences with them I will be happy to answer. Also, if you have any faucets you think I should check out please let me know.
