Signal app like Telegram is known for it's encrypted chat and the anonymous accounts. However telegram due to it's foundation greed sold out and became enterprise. And now they are not for the security and encryption. Instead there are lot of loopholes which does not make the Telegram any reliable. Now Signal app is being a replacement for the telegram like compromised app.

Russia and Venezuela both decided to block the Signal because they realized the drama surrounding the same. 

This is attack on the democracy but then again the nations who did that were never really democratic to begin with. So we don't have much influence on this part. But the apps seems to be working out with some circumvention lately. So we have to check that part too. 

As you can Signal will now update the app and allow other methods to circumvent the app censorship. And may make changes such that it would help out with the code too. For now the people have been working towards the censorship issues  and mostly used the app that has the encryptions but you never know when those are bypassed.
