CRYPTOANXIETY - Manage my Anxiety, Skill number one for the management of the crypto world: Some Tips that psychology can give you.

It is nothing new that Anxiety is part of our lives.

And is that one of the factors present when we talk about anxiety is uncertainty and our level of tolerance to it, and if we relate this to the "cryptoworld" I think that its uncertainty is a more than constant factor, right? .

However, to speak of anxiety is to remember that, in turn, it is one of the original mechanisms of our species that has allowed us to survive today.

With the evolution of human thought and its "complexity" this mechanism can sometimes play tricks on us.When in our ancestors this survival mechanism was triggered by the real and concrete perception of external danger (a predator lurking) prompting us to generate behaviors of fight, flight or paralysis, today, this perception is within us, our very thoughts being those that they trigger this scheme without the need for there always to be a real perceived threat. For this reason – summarized in a very simple way in this short article – psychology has developed different tools to manage (not extinguish) how this mechanism works in each of us.

Surely, if you consider yourself an "anxious person" you have received advice from friends or family telling you to "manage your anxiety", "manage your emotions", and the truth is that it seems very simple but it is necessary to train and practice a little to make it.We are going to review some simple tips that psychology advises, however, this article does not replace a psychotherapeutic action and approach that is necessary if anxiety is really a big problem in your life, advising you to go to a professional and expressing to you that today there are many scientifically proven and effective treatments to manage what happens to us with a very good prognosis for recovery.

Let's go back to the tips:

1- Emotions and Thoughts: When it comes to managing anxiety it is not possible to affect emotion directly. It is that I always set the example with my patients, anxiety is an emotion and as such, it is the effect of a thought. Let us imagine that a faucet from which water comes out, the water is anxiety and emotions in general, sometimes they come out abundantly and strongly, and at other times it comes out in little quantity, but constantly. In both forms it can generate complications. On the other hand, the faucet and the key itself are our thoughts and it is up to us to regulate these thoughts if we want to regulate or stop the water.

2- And here we must make a clarification, anxiety in itself is not bad or harmful, let us remember that it is a mechanism that has allowed us to evolve as we are today and survive, therefore what is necessary is to develop the ability to know how to handle anxiety. same in water flows that help us move, prepare and be attentive, but not in generating problems or prompting us to make bad decisions.

3- The origin of emotion is based on thoughts and not the other way around: Thoughts that appear as images or self-messages, sentences or words, do so automatically and not necessarily reflexively. This is why when a negative emotion floods us, it is precisely there that we must first ask ourselves “what went through our minds at that moment?” and surely we will discover the origin of that emotion.

4- Let's investigate the thought: We cannot choose what to think – sometimes – but we can decide what to do with those automatic thoughts that appear and sustain negative emotions that affect our state of mind and decision making.

As we question these thoughts, re-asking ourselves is it true or not what I am imagining – thinking?, can there be an alternative vision to what I am thinking? - And if it is true, is it useful for me to think about it now and concentrate on this?, etc. As we restructure our way of thinking, automatic thoughts will be less frequent and with less force on our emotions, until, by exercising this methodology in the medium term, it will lead to the re-education of our way of thinking about the situations we face generating emotions. more appropriate or less negative.

5- Exercise and practice: There is no magic solution, but a methodology that if you practice and train is very powerful to make you change. This is why it is necessary to train the management of our thoughts until we do it in such a way that new thoughts (more constructive and useful for us) are the ones that automatically emerge instead of the previous ones.

Lastly, I would like to state again that this article is a brief summary of some actions that psychology can contribute in terms of managing emotions and thoughts, but, as I said before, it is not intended to replace professional treatment.

I believe that these tips can help us manage the amount of uncertainty typical of the world of cryptocurrencies and its ups and downs to prepare ourselves and make better decisions that will surely be much better for our future.

I hope it is useful, a hug, Martin.
