When you first get into the crypto space you probably dream of turning an investment into a lot of money really fast. You hear stories about people making a lot of money from meme coins or getting in on a bull run at the time.. For most people who are just starting out things do not go that way. They buy when the price is high sell when the price is low. Then they think that crypto is not a good idea.

If you are new to cryptocurrency it is an idea to learn about the common mistakes that people make and how to avoid them. This can help you keep your money safe. Here are three things that beginners often do wrong and how you can do things differently.

1. Buying into the Hype

A lot of people buy a coin just because its price has gone up a lot in one day. When you see a coin over social media the big investors are usually getting ready to sell their coins to people who are just getting in.

* What you should do instead: Do not buy a coin when its price is going up fast. Wait for the price to come back down or buy a bit of the coin at a time no matter what the price is.

2. Not Managing Risk

Some people put all their money into one coin that's really risky hoping that it will go up a lot. While it is nice to make a lot of money it is also possible to lose a lot of money if the market goes down.

* What you should do instead: Keep most of your money in coins like Bitcoin or Ethereum that're more stable. Only put an amount of money into riskier coins and only use money that you can afford to lose.

3. Leaving Your Money on Exchanges

If you leave all your crypto on an exchange you are taking a risk. If the exchange has problems you could lose your money.

* What you should do instead: If you plan to hold onto your crypto for a time move it to a wallet that is safe and not connected to an exchange. Always keep your wallet information written down on paper and do not store it on your phone.
