My story of my first contact with Bitcoin!
i am from sweden and trying to be better on englishthats why i blogging.
That was just over 7-8 years ago when me and a bunch of friends bought party drugs on the internet.
I just want to say that the drugs we bought were legal during that time but were classified as dangerous to health some years after we started ordering home and then in the end it was classified as a drug.
at the beginning of the time when it was legal, we paid with our regular ATM cards linked to our regular bank accounts. It was perfectly okay for us that the bank and also the police could see what we ordered, it was legal!
the problems appeared a little later when we found out that the drug was classified as a hazardous substance. It was only a fine if we went there when we ordered it, but who wants to risk a fine? not us anyway.
This is where I met Bitcoin for the first time. Did I understand that Bitcoin would be as big as it is today then? Would I then know that Bitcoin at today's exchange rate would be SEK 131,413.24?
The answer is just as you understand NO in capital letters.
We had only heard that there was a digital anonymous currency that you could trade with on the internet and remain completely anonymous. This would prove to be completely wrong because Bitcoin is the most transparent currency you can trade with.
But at the time, I do not think the police or any authority knew how to check a blockchain to track transactions.
I definitely did not know. I actually had no idea about the technology behind Bitcoin or that the Bitcoin I traded for SEK 300 could be worth SEK 190,000 (all time high) one day.
No, we only bought Bitcoin to be able to order drugs from various shops on the internet. mostly from india and china.
Because that was where the drugs were made.
I have actually heard that many but not everyone's first encounter with Bitcoin was when they traded drugs on silkroad.
Silkroad for those of you who do not know what one of the biggest drug deals on the darknet. It's like Ebay fixed on drugs.
There are probably many who think that Bitcoin was created so that criminals could use it. But no, far from it.
But like much else, criminals were the first to see areas of use with bitcoin.
Not many people know, but criminals are the first to drive around in cars.

Why I think criminals were among the first to see the value of Bitcoin for real because they could move money all over the world. Completely without the approval of the bank or authorities. A bit for the same reason we started using bitcoin as well.
But it would be around 5 more years before I started reading about bitcoin again and another year or so before I started investing in bitcoin and discovered that there were over 1000 new crypto currencies!
I can laugh at myself today that I did not understand what Bitcoin really was 8 years ago because then I would not have had to work today at all. But it's always easy to be hindsight haha.
It was a quick story about my first encounter with Bitcoin and the digital gold of the future!
