Coinbase Predictions

VeChain Foundation recently made the announcement that they were implementing the Rosetta blockchain standard for VeChain (VET). Coinbase released this standard on June 17, 2020 with a goal of simplifying the blockchain. This also provides developers with additional tools to make integration with other blockchain simpler.

According to Coinbase:

"For developers of new blockchain projects, the Rosetta interface makes it easier to ensure compatibility with exchanges that use Rosetta, and can dramatically speed up the time it takes exchanges to integrate with new blockchains and protect customer funds by ensuring specific security conditions are met."

Some notable blockchains who have already introduced the Rosetta standard are Celo, Cosmos, Cardano & Tron

The complete list of 20 Blockchain Projects include:

Near, Cardano, Celo, Coda, Neo, Tron, Handshake, Oasis, Cosmos, Decred, Filecoin, Ontology, Sia, Zilliqa, Digibyte, Harmony, Kadena,                         Nervos, and Blockstack

Of the blockchain projects that have implemented Rosetta, only Celo & Cosmos are supported on Coinbase.

Coinbase already made the announcement back in June, that they were exploring the implementation of additional new digital assets.

The list of assets being considered was:

Aave, Aragon, Arweave, Bancor, COMP, Digibyte, Horizen, Livepeer, NuCypher, Numeraire, KEEP Network, Origin Portocol, Ren, Render Token, Siacoin, SKALE Network, Synthetic, and Vechain

According to Coinbase:

"We will evaluate each asset against the exchange’s digital framework, and if the assets meet the company’s standards, it will offer them on the platform."

Of the blockchain projects that Coinbase was exploring adding support to, only COMP was added.

Now making the correlation, there are three projects that have implemented Rosetta and also placed on the list of assets being reviewed.

  • 1. Digibyte
  • 2. Siacoin
  • 3. Vechain

The best way to meet Coinbase standards is to implement the standards, designed by Coinbase. I think with a list narrowed down to 3, there is a good chance that we could see adoption by Coinbase in the near future.

Important Disclaimer:

  • At this point, all I and everybody else can do is make speculation based on the information out there. Nobody can truly know the next coin listed on Coinbase (Unless you're high up in the company or have an insider connection) until they make the official announcement. Take my words as speculation and no guarantee that any of these coins will be listed.
