Fortune favors the BRAVE

Well, I'm talking about the Brave Browser which has been the number one go-to browser of crypto enthusiasts since its introduction in 2016.

It is fast and has strong privacy features but what has hooked many crypto users out there is the Basic Attention Token (BAT) which serves as reward to users its usage and for viewing privacy respecting ads built on the browser. 

Yesterday, the BAT generated a lot of attention in social media because of its spectacular performance. 

In just one trading session, its value increased by 35.57%, from $.6201 to $.8406.

What could have caused that rapid price appreciation of BAT?

There are two major events that triggered the BAT rally and these are:

1. BAT Road Map 2.0 - Issued in Feb. 22, 2021

With this roadmap, the company aims to make crypto and decentralized finance (DeFi) accessible and usable for everyone through:

- introduction of a new and improved BRAVE wallet

- decentralized exchange aggregator to enable token swaps with distinct advantages and added value for Brave/BAT users

2. Acquisition of a search engine - Published in March 3, 2021

In a move directly aimed at challenging the dominance of Google, BRAVE announced that it has acquired Tailcat, the open search engine developed by the team formerly responsible for the privacy search. Soon Tailcat will become the foundation of Brave Search development. 

According to BRAVE, the search engine will be guided by the same principles that made the BRAVE Browser highly successful.

• Brave Search offers choice: ad-free paid search and ad-supported search.

• Brave Search is open: Brave Search will be shared to power other search engines.

Even before the Road 2.0, there was already accumulation happening in Feb. 9 which drove prices higher only to return back to the $.400 price level.  Are they traders with nerves made of steel or someone with insider information? It could be both. One thing for sure, their boldness to enter early is now paying handsome rewards.
