Halving is the reward reduction event that Bitcoin miners receive
In 2016, the incentives were reduced from 25 BTC to 12.5 BTC for each block mined
and as of May 11, 2020, each new block mined only generates 6.25 new BTC;
The next Bitcoin halving is expected to take place in April 2024; this coming year
when will it turn from 6.25 BTC to only 3.12.50 BTC
and the reward system will thus continue to reduce until approximately 2140, when all Bitcoin is mined;
So, these are the factors:
From 25 BTC to only 12.5 in 2016
From 12.5 BTC to only 6.25 in 2020
And from 6.25 BTC to only 3.12.50 this coming year
