The simple secret to online work being amazingly successful is one very important thing: you have love what you do.
If you go to platforms like Medium, they are bombarded with click-bait articles trying to grab readers with headlines like, "How I Made My First $20K in 30 Days Online!" or "I Use ChatGPT to Make $10K a Month!" Unfortunately, most of this garbage is just that - made up garbage.
Self-drive isn't some amazing techy secret; motivation has been an age-old key that drives some people to perform where others fail and walk away. The simple fact is, work in itself, even for compensation, isn't going to sustain a person's interest. At the first opportunity to escape the drudgery, most people will jump. It's the reason why so many people hate their day jobs.
They have to go to work for a paycheck, and they have to stay at those jobs due to the same dependency until something better comes along. However, a small percentage excel in whatever they do, and really seem to be enjoying themselves. So they advance and promote until they get into a level they hate, and then they fall into the same trap too.
Cheap Becomes Apparent Quickly
Online work is no different. Whether it's video content, writing, coding or graphics, there's a point where serious commitment and production take a serious amount of work and time. Absent any commitment, people end up burning out quickly. They look for ways to cut corners as well. For example, AI has become a serious go-to for people looking for fast results with writing. Unfortunately, poor choices produce poor quality, and AI writing consistently fails the grade. It's obvious in it's lack of sincere communication as well as even making sense sometimes. And, as a result, these short-time writers or bloggers fall by the wayside.
In other areas, shortcuts do seem to work for a while. Clearly graphics are seeing a far easier entry for AI tools, for example, than above. However, even there, the limitations of short cuts become apparent. When anything custom is needed, AI tools fail, and the so-called artist then can't perform and produce consistent images.
Get Your Due Reward
However, for those who are committed, the work usually pays off. It takes time, blood, sweat and some tears, but the professionalism that many produce with genuine content becomes apparent and highly visible. You can see the difference, for example in a real photographer's work versus that produced by AI.
You want good pay online? Get good at what you do best, really good. And then find a way to sell it. Forget about trying to use a cheap substitute. Put the time in, develop yourself with real training and then reap the rewards.
