There is still a mistery about the identity of the Bitcoin creator. But there is some data pointing into the direction of him being British, or at least to make us believe that he lived for a while in United Kingdom.
First, the message on the Bitcoin Genesis Block: ‘Chancellor on Brink of Second Bailout for Banks’ is a quote from the front page of The Times - english edition.

There are also some other hints that he is using British English, very often finishing his spelling of endings with -ise instead of -ize and -our instead of -or, e.g., analyse, minimise, neighbour, favour, and what is more important, notice the expressions 'wet blanket' and 'bloody hard', which for me is something normal, living in UK, but apparently for our American friends is a bit British thing.

He is also using data like DD/MM/YYYY, which is definitely not American, for example, but it is used in UK (and the rest of the Europe). The Japanese data format is even more different (year, month, day). Now, this is still questionable, as many would like to show the metadata pointing towards East US, but still there are many inconsistencies with every hypothesis, if we are looking for them. Most probably, he started to work on Bitcoin somewhere in US, but finished his work in UK.
Also, from his writing, he shows a native level of English, and his mastery will be improbable to be achieved by a Japanese. But some people believe that Satoshi was not a person, but a team.
Just my personal idea, I think Adam Back is definitely the inspiration, with his HashCash, if not one of the members of team Satoshi (if there was a team, with Hall Finney and Nick Szabo as additional members). Don't believe me, just google him and see it with your eyes.
Yours truly,
George
