Who actually trust staking for Eth 2.0 ? ---> Put your hands up ( possibly "in the air" )

Hello dear friends Publishers&Readers, I would kindly ask you all if you already went straight with staking ETH 2.0 and if so, where and on which platform. In fact, unless you have 32 ETH parked somewhere you don't know what to do, and unless you have the technical skills to run a full node, you have to rely on some trust-me-because-you-have-no-choice service which will do the dirty job for you.

I'm not rich, so my ETH staking possible amount lies in the range 0.2 - 0.5 , and I'm asking you some really simple and fair questions:

Do staking such a small is worth the risk?
Waiting years for the protocol improvement to go full active?
Can't I just send this sum to some pool, or platforms like Blockfi or Nexo, promising me arount 5-6% APY?

Ps: Blockfi let you trade, at 1% fees, any-to-any cryptos, so in case you smell the desaster, you could sell out everything for USDC, then buy back when the bottom arrives; and you have 1 free withdrawal per month. The link is a referral one, if you deposit 100$ worth of cryptos, we both get 10$ :-)

Come on, 1-2 years is a super long time. If things turn bad, you would loose a lot. Of course if I were a so called early-investor , with some tens to hundreds ETHs waiting around, I would certainly do so. But with such a small sum, I'm in doubt.

I was considering using Binance as a staking provider, because I do really trust this exchange, I have no doubt they will have a bigger supremacy in the future, and that they will stay compliant to laws worldwide. Binance promises that all users who staked ETH will receive, in January, an equal amount ( that is, 1 : 1) of B-ETH , which in the future will be redeemable to have the ETHs back. Meanwhile, users will be able to trade them, as normal tokens.

Many exchanges are proposing similar strategies to make people feel comfortable about staking their funds. Everything looks perfect: while your ETH are earning interests, you are still able to trade BETH.

Looks perfect is not perfect!

Do you really trust exchanges that much? I do, personally, at least for the best ones, because is more profitable for them not to loose people's confidence, not because I think they are controlled by "cute" persons. But you can never know what will happen.

Do you prefer to send your funds to some other platform like RocketPool and similars?

Let me know what you think... and thank you for reading :-)

I hope you will have a nice day, see you soon
