29% of people (36% in Italy) have a basic knowledge of cryptocurrencies. Only one in ten understands perfectly how it works. If we look at all of Italy, the percentage of respondents who said they know how virtual currency is calculated is around 8%. This is what emerges from Kaspersky's Unexplored Territory report: because consumers are still cautious in adopting cryptocurrency.
A fifth of respondents globally said that although they are not currently using it, they would like to do so in the future. In Italy, in particular, users who declare themselves interested in using virtual currency in the future stand at 18%. Still, there are still perplexities among users. Criminals can use cryptocurrencies for their own purposes, and nearly one in five respondents globally said they suffered a hacker attack during transactions. Criminals create fake electronic wallets to attract people to invest their money and 15% of respondents said they had been victims of fraud related to this type of currency (7% if we look at Italy).Dall'analisi è emerso inoltre che, nonostante celebrità come Johnny Depp e influencer di YouTube come PewDiePie stiano adottando questa tecnologia, il tasso di adozione delle cryptovalute da parte degli utenti di tutto il mondo sta rallentando.
