Lazy's Notes: Random Stuff Recap

Hello Hello,

too much stuff in real life, no time to write and elaborate as I would like.

So let's start in topic:

- BTC is now stable above 70K $

- Usd to Eur is trading around 0.85 € for $

Not great but we are improving.

SITES :

- Cointiply has introduced random captcha and restarted with no explanation my daily streak twice in the last months. Bhu! I'm just rolling the free spins...

- Freecash denied me refund for not tracking my progress on Idle Bank Tycoon. Bhu! Therefore, fearing the same on other games, I didn't invest in Mu Dark Epoch - for which they are paying regularly. I could have made a lot more missions... not paying is impossible reach the 287th level mission in time.

- Cointiply and Timebucks have some ads that trigger my PC alert system so I have abandoned them.

- Betfury all good. Not that I 'm winning but I make a bit of tokens every day and try to get lucky.

- Freetron all good. I made another 7$. Not worth the efforts maybe but the level system got me hooked.

MU Dark Epoch:

- I'm still convinced is a bad product but the guild social life is making it acceptable. Do not download it unless some sites is paying you to play

NBA :

- do we have a triumvirate in West ? I mean, Denver, OKC, San Antonio have an interesting match-up situation:

Denver suffers OKC that can put many small or mid-sized defenders on Jokic and have big men roaming in the paint .

Vice-versa Denver has the upper hand vs San Antonio which has no forward able to contain Jokic and has to use Wemby against him, which means no other big man in the paint to help.

Finally OKC suffers San Antonio but its structure is able to make life hard for Jokic and the rest of the Nuggets.

So, considering Denver does not fail against the Timberwolves in the first round... the semifinals would see Okc vs Spurs. If the above is true the finals will be Spurs vs Nuggets.

In short : Denver has the best player of the game but not the best team. However it's possible that the way the post season works make them the champions.

MAGIC the Gathering:

- Secrets of Strixhaven is the next expansion and I think:

- The power level is high but not incredibly high and could slow down teh actual metagame.

- The flavor is meh, a bit HarryPotteresque but at least fantasy, something we appreciate after Ninja Turtles and Spider Man.

I reviewed the charms, let me review the Emeritus:

What are the Emeritus ? They are a cycle of creatures, one per color, able to cast iconic spells from the first set of magic.

Once they are prepared (to cast the spell) their controller can actually cast the spell from the exile zone.

So after 35 years we will see again Demonic Tutor and Ancestral Recall in standard.

From the worst:

The red one is a 2/2 creature for 1R with first strike. It enters unprepared and it becomes prepared when you cast the THIRD spell of the turn. Then you can cast lightening bolt.

The base creature is ok but not great, it's not modal (you can't decide to play the creature or thge creature + spell paying more mana like other emeritus) and 3 other spells are a lot. It's not impossible to set up but as a payoff for firing 3 spells... barely decent.

The green one is a 3/4 creature for 2G and vigilance that lets you cast Regrowth. It enters prepared and it can be prepared again if you attack with it while you have 8 lands. Not easy.

The base creature is decent and it's already prepared so you can decide to play it and menace Regrowth the following turn or play 5 mana and do both.

It's not bad but there is a lot of 3 drops that are very good at the moment. The other problem is the regrowth is very good when you play super strong low cost spells... not exactly what you play in standard (even if the power level nowadays is quite better than 10 years ago). Good.

Emeritus of Ideation, the blue one, you can see in the Image above. As a creature that make you draw 3 next turn or as a 6 drop that draw 3 cards is good. Ancestral is instant so you can leave mana open for the end of turn. It's not easy to prepare it again but it's not impossible and 2 or 3 ancestrals are quite strong. The problem is that the meta is so fast that a 5/5 that draws 3, played turn6 or 7 can be too slow nowadays. The power is there but I'm not sure it will see a lot of play.

The black one is instead a little less powerful but 5/4 for 4 is ok and kills a lot of things in combat. If you play it as a 4 drop, then it's the opponent that has to kill it or you will have a Demonic tutor. As a 6 drop tutoring you the best card of your deck is balanced. So I prefer Emeritus of Woe to most of the cycle. It's not mana intensive, it's a big 4 drop, it enters prepared. It doesn't promise value or card advantage, it bring solutions.

Finally Emeritus of Truce is very different from its pales.

It's very versatile, which I love and brings a lot of power for 3 mana. The only problem is that white has many great 3 drop already and even more considering Strixhaven.

That said, it makes you a 3/3 and a flying 1/1 for just 3 mana. It's a lot. Moreover sometimes the opponent will have anyway more creatures than you so for 4 mana you will make 2 creatures and will kill their best one.

Usually you can always decide to play it for value or use it to kill something, gifting a 1/1.

It doesn't need setup like the red one, it doesn't need a good graveyard like the green one, it doesn't need a lot of mana like the blue or black ones.

Thank you if you read something and even if you didn't ;-)
