Bitcoin's Complete List of Partnerships and Integrations

Bitcoin's Complete List of Partnerships and Integrations

Bitcoin used to be the outsider — the thing banks warned you about. In 2026, some of those same banks are racing to offer it. Let's break down who's actually building with Bitcoin right now, and why it matters more than just another headline.

The ETF Giants

Bitcoin's biggest institutional doorway is still spot ETFs, and two names dominate almost everything: BlackRock and Fidelity. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) and Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) have consistently captured the large majority of new institutional money flowing into Bitcoin ETFs this year, often over 90% of inflows on the biggest trading days. Smaller issuers like VanEck, Bitwise, Ark Invest, and Franklin Templeton are still in the game, but they're increasingly fighting for scraps compared to the two leaders.

The newest entrant is a big one: Morgan Stanley became the first major U.S. bank to file its own spot Bitcoin ETF directly, undercutting the competition with a notably lower fee. That's a meaningful shift — this isn't a crypto-native company or a traditional asset manager anymore, it's a Wall Street bank building Bitcoin products in-house.

Custody: Who's Actually Holding the Bitcoin

Behind every ETF is a custodian actually storing the Bitcoin, and this list has been quietly growing. Coinbase Custody remains the most widely used, backing many of the largest funds including BlackRock's IBIT. Fidelity uses its own in-house custody arm, Fidelity Digital Assets, rather than outsourcing.

More traditional finance names have entered custody too. US Bancorp resumed Bitcoin custody services to support ETF operations, and BNY Mellon and State Street have both rolled out digital-asset custody platforms of their own. That matters because these are some of the most conservative, heavily regulated institutions in finance — them touching Bitcoin custody at all is a signal of how mainstream this has become.

Banks Getting Directly Involved

This is where it gets genuinely interesting. Citigroup announced plans to integrate Bitcoin services for institutional clients, focusing on custody, servicing, and collateral management — with the bank's own digital asset custody head putting it bluntly: they're "making BTC bankable."

JPMorgan is piloting tokenized deposits and stablecoin-based settlement tools through its Kinexys platform, while also exploring hybrid on-chain payment networks. Morgan Stanley, PNC, and Wells Fargo are developing their own crypto trading and settlement products, largely through exchange partnerships. SoFi became the first US chartered bank to offer direct digital asset trading straight from customer accounts, skipping the need for a separate crypto exchange entirely. US Bank offers crypto custody through a partnership with NYDIG.

Exchange-Level Moves

The exchanges themselves have been busy too. Coinbase acquired Echo, while Kraken partnered with Legion — both moves aimed at controlling early-stage token deal flow and building closer relationships with projects before they go public. It's less flashy than a bank headline, but it shows exchanges positioning themselves deeper into the pipeline, not just as trading venues.

Why This List Matters More Than It Looks

Here's the honest takeaway: none of this guarantees where Bitcoin's price goes next. But it does change what Bitcoin actually is, structurally. A few years ago, "partnerships" for Bitcoin mostly meant payment processors adding BTC as an option. Now it's sovereign-adjacent custody, bank balance sheets, and regulated fund infrastructure. Bitcoin isn't fighting for legitimacy anymore — it's being built into the plumbing of traditional finance, one custody agreement and ETF filing at a time.

Which of these partnerships surprised you most — and which one do you think matters the most long-term? Let me know in the comments.
