You knew this was coming.
I mean,really.
Do we really need alt coins.
Seriously, there are alt coins for almost anything
Cooking, reading,sleeping,you name it.
It probably has its own token.
And it really is worth some dollars,no matter how small.
Sure,there are useful altcoins.
Coins like Ethereum are seriously the future.
But Tubecoin? Seriously?
See, here's the thing.
We really only need a hand full of really useful coins.
Stuff like Bitcoin,Ripple and Lumens will change the way we pay for stuff.
Platforms like Ethereum will dominate the future of smart contracts and computing.
BAT will pay you for what you currently pay Google for.
Bitcoin Cash will......well improve on what Bitcoin is doing. It'll make it faster,cheaper and better.
And so on.
But hold up.
Why are there so many alt coins?
Some of which are downright scams,and some of which are seriously useless?
Well,it all boils down to the the decentralisation and freedom that a Blockchain gives.
Take for instance the Ethereum Blockchain.
Once you've learnt the language of the blockchain- which is Solidity by the way - you can create as many apps as your fingers can code .
Intact, you and I can literally create our own ERC20 compliant tokens right now.(I will do a post on how to do this soon. Stay tuned!)
That's why we've ended up with so many coins.
Granted,if not for this freedom,coins like litecoin and Lumens won't exist today.
But so won't all the exam coins that have cheated greedy 'investors'.
But let's face it.
Crypto is still really in it's infancy. Even after all these years.
And what kind of world would this be if only a few coins existed?
Some of these coins are really up to something good. They just need more time.
The way I see it,the useless ones would be phased out in time
And the useful ones would stand the test of time.
So yes,we do need alt coins.
