Tally Ho Wallet - An Average Guy's Perspective

By Creech | Crypto_Creech | 23 Jul 2022

There is definitely a lot of buzz behind the new Tally Ho web wallet, so I figured I would take a look and try to give a non-technical perspective of this dog-themed crypto wallet. I like to keep things as simple and digestible as possible on this blog, so I'm going to highlight what I think are the three most promising and positive things I see about Tally Ho.

This definitely is not the most in-depth analysis but, this article if for the people (like myself) who don't have a major background in computer science and don't feel like reading a multi-page analysis.

My three "green flags"

1. Decentralization

Decentralization - Wikipedia

In the past, I have always steered clear of web wallets like Metamask due to being developed by a large software company who in theory, maintains a lot of control over it's functions. When researching Tally Ho, that does not seem to be the case. Tally Ho is governed and driven by something called a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization). To be brief, a DAO is an organization with no central governing body that distributes voting power evenly among the holders of the asset. Also, all votes and activity through the DAO are posted on the blockchain.

This makes all actions of the users publicly viewable. This kind of decentralization is a big green flag to me in terms of trusting an application with your funds.

2. Planning

I must say, the Tally Ho roadmap is impressive. It is designed kind of like a social media where users can ask questions, comment, and make future requests. Although they could exist elsewhere, this is not a design that I have ever experienced before when using any other decentralized applications and really hits home on the aspects of being user-friendly and transparent.

Not to mention they have great plans for the wallet such as, NFT support, smart contract support, and most importantly to me, hardware wallet support. Being able to use my hardware wallet with a web app gives me a much better piece of mind knowing that I have to physically approve every transaction that takes place in my account.

3. Dogs

Alright, hear me out: everyone loves dogs. This may not seem like a very valid point to make but, have you seen what has been popular in the crypto space in the past year or two? Dog themed coins and apps have been all the rage lately and Tally Ho has plans to release its own token called "$DOGGO" with an airdrop included for early users. For those of you who haven't heard of this, an airdrop is essentially a giveaway of a new cryptocurrency. I will include the link for more information on this below. If nothing else, I think this has a good amount of potential on its name and design alone. This being said, the who dog theme and free bit of crypto could be a bigger plus to Tally Ho users than you might think.

Thanks for reading if you got this far and please feel free to leave a comment and tell me what you think! I have left some helpful links below that expand on some of the things i talked about in this article along with some links to the other sites I post on if you're interested.

As always, have a good one,
