Vitalik Buterin opposes Layer 3
The popularity of L3 is not supported by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin. Buterin recently "re-upped" his post on "Layer 3s" from a year and a half ago, explaining that while L3 may cut the cost of batch publishing and deposit/withdrawals slightly, it does not enhance throughput significantly. Vitalik has proposed accepting alternative "lighter" methods of cost savings.
No Layer 3 for Polygon: Polygon Labs CEO Marc Boiron claims that L3 will put Ethereum at risk by taking its value away, and the network will become insecure.
