El Salvador has recently amended its bitcoin laws in accordance with an agreement with the IMF. The new amendment will make bitcoin optional, not mandatory, for private sector traders.
Good for both
El Salvador has to fill the gap in the country's declining fiat, so this agreement is important for it. So what if the IMF cannot stop El Salvador from using bitcoin? At least it is able to allow business opportunities for bitcoin opponents in El Salvador, otherwise due to Trump, the IMF will not get any promotion from the US.
Winner is Bukele
Bukele too isn't giving up so easily just to appease the IMF. Therefore, the strategic reserve of Bitcoin has also been approved in this new amendment. Along with this, an additional 12 BTC have been purchased; that is, the process of purchasing Bitcoin has been further accelerated. El Salvador's current Bitcoin HODL is 6049 BTC.
