Ampleforth (AMPL) is slowly gaining popularity. Here at Publish0x, we all enjoy making $AMPL. But the main thing is that since a few days I have seen many spam posts in social media about AMPL beta staking claims, which got me thinking: what could be the purpose of this?
$AMPL matter?
Ampleforth $AMPL was founded by the Ampleforth Foundation, created by its CEO Evan Kuo, and is listed in KuCoin, Uniswap V2, and Bitfinex. Since we already know enough about $AMPL, let's move on to the main question. Those who don't know should read about AMPL (first link in the resources section at the bottom of this article).
The 'Beta Staking' Issue
An account on social media is asking people to register their wallets for beta staking. No one can comment directly on its post, but its spam is being promoted by bot accounts tagging others. I was both sceptical and encouraged, but I take my AMPL only in Kucoin (this is the policy here), so I had no reason to register a wallet.
Its $FORTH
AMPL is an ethereum-based token, and ethereum has become a PoS. But there is no information about Ampleforth being P.O.S. But that spam post is talking about $FORTH staking, which is Governance Token of Ampleforth (available in Binance, KuCoin, and Coinbase).
Still A Fake
That promoter account of $FORTH is also similar to the account of $AMPL. It also has #AMPL in its name, not FORTH, so it's clearly a fake account. Ampleforth's Twitter account is @AmpleforthOrg, and the account causing the spam is @AmplefotrhOrg (it ends the forth as fotrh, which is how it got caught).
