There are many different online platforms you can use to buy, sell, and mint NFTs, the question is: How do you choose? Well, below I outline some of the most used and trusted NFT marketplaces out there.
OpenSea
OpenSea is probably the most widely used NFT marketplace out there. Launched in 2017, OpenSea has garnered quite the large user base, with thousand of NFT transactions occurring on their platform at all times, making it one of the most trusted NFT platforms available. It primarily runs on Ethereum. As an example, here is my profile on OpenSea with a handful of minted NFTs.
Rarible
Rarible uses it’s own token called Rari and has a large, active user base. Users have bought nearly 200,000 tokens on this platform, worth approximately $139 million in FIAT currency. As an example, here is my profile on Rarible with a couple NFTs.
NFTrade
NFTrade, while overall similar to OpenSea, has one big advantage over the competition. It allows for the use of many more blockchains than the rest. That means it would be easier to mint NFTs on a specific chain to save costs based on the market at the time. It is a highly used site with collections from many respected developers in the community.
SuperRare
SuperRare is an NFT marketplace that focuses mostly on artwork and digital paintings. It also has an incredibly precisely detailed filtering system that allows you to find a particular token.
NFTz
NFTz runs on the Decentralized Social, or DeSo, blockchain. A huge benefit for the NFTz marketplace is that it does not charge gas fees to mint an NFT. However, it can only be sold within the DeSo blockchain which is still picking up users, but the current user base is incredibly dedicated. As an example, here is my profile on NFTz with a handful of minted NFTs, all minted without any gas fees.
Mintable
Mintable runs on the Ethereum blockchain and is the platform I have chosen to use the most frequently, and that’s for one simple reason: Minting NFT’s is free. Well, it can be. There are several options to mint a new NFT that will cost you money on this platform, but if you want to mint an NFT without paying a penny you can mint it to the Mintable Gasless Store. As an example, here is my profile on Mintable with all of it’s NFTs minted directly to the Mintable Gasless Store.
