Hello my fellow crypto billionaires. I have not written in a long time and there is little to say in my defense. My summer adventures started with graduating from my master studies. I had many plans in my head for a productive summer, but what needs to happen will happen nonetheless. Some of the actions which I planned to carry out where:

  • Write relentlessly on Publish0x;
  • Start experimenting with crypto trading;
  • Define start-up ideas and make a plan to carry out during autumn;
  • Finish BLOCKS summer school;

I can proudly announce that I accomplished nothing from the list. Why?

Write relentlessly on Publish0x - On the 8th of July I was informed by the Publish0x team that my authorship privileges have been removed, due to serious breach of rules when posting content. That was a mental hit as I was not expecting this. As one who just successfully defended a masters thesis I know very well what plagiarism is and that it should not be tolerated. For clarification, whenever I write a post with some copy pasting of material I always include the original author's source and add relevant links and so on. This is normal practice in the academic world. I wasn’t angry, rather just confused since in my opinion I did everything correctly, so the next logical step was to contact Publish0x support, which I did. The response was pretty quick. Apparently 3 of my last posts(which are blocked now) were taken from other websites. I reasoned the same way which I described previously and asked for guidance on how to properly refer to content from other sites. Unfortunately I did not get a straightforward answer on how to refer, but still, I acknowledged my mistake and we parted ways agreeing that I will improve my content writing and include more original content. Lessons to learn from this encounter:

  • Proper referring still unclear so better use original content;
  • Publish0x support team is helpful and reasonable;
  • Plagiarism is not tolerated and should not be encouraged;

After some emails my authorship privileges were restored but motivation was down, therefore no posting until now.

Start experimenting with crypto trading - Most likely we all have a friend or two or even more who is eagerly promoting crypto trading and leading it by example. I’m no exception. I have a very good friend who has been involved with crypto trading for a year and half now. Don’t get me wrong, he’s not just full of himself. He took his lessons hard and had his ups and downs, but after about a year of trading negatively he finally started to have some positive trades and so on. Occasionally talking with him about the subject sparked interest within me as well. I’ve been around long term investing for a couple of years now, but I’ve never traded as it seemed to me something too risky. It still is, but now I’m a bit more confident in myself that I can withstand the nervous rollercoaster of trading. Still something felt not in place and I kept postponing and postponing, eventually leading to a decision that trading can yet wait another year or even more. But I didn’t go into lockdown. Instead I started to familiarize myself with instruments that are available through Binance, as it is one of the most easy to learn platforms with a comprehensive user base. So eventually I found myself reading about Staking and found it a very easy and straightforward way of introducing myself to new coins while generating passive income. I will do a separate post on staking. The tough part will be to word it in my own way so that I will not use any other content :)

Define start-up ideas and make a plan to carry out during autumn - After realizing that in autumn I will have more free time I thought seriously about jumping into the start-up world. Due to my vocational background of business development in a telecommunication company I have been thinking more and more about why I do what I do. Being a business developer in an established company does grant a good salary but eventually I work for someone else. I still go through all of the hassle of proving my point, ideas and business validity. But the reward at the end of the road is a fraction of the effort put in. So I have been talking with peers from university and other start-ups and everyone was super supportive saying that, yes I should do the jump. So after graduation, I gathered some of those people, discussed some ideas, got feedback on those ideas and eventually I found out what I had to do. Now the problem, as with the previous two points, I didn’t do anything. Maybe I’m a chronic procrastinator?  Or maybe I’m taking on too much? Thoughts welcomed…

Finish BLOCKS summer school - My last not blocked post is about BLOCKS summer school to which I enrolled last year, but due to COVID-19 was eventually postponed and done virtually this summer. At first I was very excited about this program, as it was something that was taught by universities, not some self taught youtuber. I was hoping to hear something of value. I was slightly disappointed, because there was nothing majorly new. Yes maybe from some perspective some points were new, but mostly I knew everything and to be honest those self taught youtubers do offer the same or even better quality materials. Perhaps I was too harsh with my expectations, or perhaps halfway through it I got ill(not covid) and didn’t have motivation to continue or the digital platform for studies was not well built. Doesn’t really matter at this point anymore. I quit the program halfway, and let it be as it is. Since it was free of charge and nobody was obligated I do not feel any guilt.

And that’s about it. Maybe I should focus more on what I accomplished during summer? Because time went by flying and I wasn't laying all the time at home watching TV. No, we traveled, visited some old friends and family, and simply had a good time. You know, like regular people do. Maybe I needed it, restart and now can move on with the plans I initially had?
