There’s a lot of darkness on the road ahead

it’s been raining for days and days

but as we trek to the open road

the sun is a rumor today

We’ve heard the rain fall night after night

we’ve heard the birds as they take their flight

but the darkness prevailed and blocked out the light

we’ve waited for the skies to clear

we’ve heard there’s light when morning nears

That glimmer will shine once again my dear

We’ve walked through the forest on this long long road

Through the trees and the darkness it holds

But the end is near and the path it glows

For we’ve reached the end of the trees and spires

Beneath our feet the muck and mire

The darkness behind us the future inspired

The edge of the road bordering forest and field

The darkened skies begin to yield

We blink our eyes as the light they shield

The sun, how it blazes this day!
