The pursuit of pleasure
Since my early twenties until just a few years ago, I was a member of a national 1% motorcycle club. It’s a lifestyle that can’t be explained to you. Ya just have to live it to know. Being a patch holder, much like being invested in the current crypto market, was not for those without the intestinal fortitude to handle it. You have to have your wits about you for one thing. In that lifestyle you could end up with a wooden shampoo(knocked upside the head with an ax handle) for fucking up, and in this one your coins can go to 0 and you might get rug pulled if you ain’t careful. There was one particular year I remember especially well. It was the annual Pursuit of Pleasure run. It sounds great, and it was until it wasn’t. This particular year would see a brother killed in a motorcycle accident on the return trip, 2 brothers being charged with murder a few weeks later, and one more killed by a member of another club. Shot in the head as he was leaving the titty bar. Just like that, those brothers were gone. And just like that, so can your investments if your not careful
Always have a plan. Always
Being prepared for the situation you are going into, makes all the difference. This particular ride was about 270 miles to a farm property the club owned. When we rode together,it was fast and the pack was tight. So tight that your front wheel was only about 5 or 6 feet from the back wheel of the guy in front of you. So fast that at that distance, there’s no time to react if shit goes south. Wtf does that have to do with crypto dude? Plenty. Anytime you enter an investment, trade, long term hold etc, you need to have a plan. What price will you enter the position? What price will you take some profits off the table or exit completely? How much of your investment are you willing to lose? All are questions that you need to ask yourself and come up with answers for them
No matter how much you twist the wick, you eventually run outta gas
It doesn’t matter how much you filled your tank,or how fast you go. Eventually you will run out of gas and come to a stop. Just like where we are now. BTC and ETH made new ATHs. Everything was going tits. And then the drop started. Talk turned from bull to bear market and people began to get scared. And the drop continued. Now here we are,at a critical point. Will this bike run out of gas just before the gas station? Only to have to slowly drift in,fuel up and get back on and take off like a madman and resume its ride? Or will it run out sooner than we think, only to realize you’re gonna have to get off and push it quite a ways. One thing is for sure, the ride ain’t over yet so don’t give up.
What happens next?
The million dollar question! Nobody knows, right? Ha especially me I’m just some broken down scooter trash who ended up getting into investing and away from the club lifestyle when my first son was born. That was like being on that ride and hitting a wall outta nowhere that is another story for another time though,my friends. As to where we are now, I happen to have some thoughts. For the short term I’m expecting a little more chop before a capitulation if BTC down to 36-37k. (2800ish for ETH). Once we have that one last, bloody drop,I expect a return to glory in short order. See, I don’t think we are going into a crypto bear market. No I think this bullrun is an extended cycle and we are about to make another huge run up. Another mountain on the yearly chart and currently we are a group of hikers at the base saying “Christ that’s a tall climb!”
