How Have the Recent Publish0x Changes Affected a Blogger like Me?

It has been 3 weeks since Igor announced the changes to Publish0x's tipping and writing guidelines. I was a little concerned about how it would affect me as I am new to this blogging stuff and was really getting a kick out of it. It has allowed me an outlet to write about things that matter to me and to engage in a community I find fascinating.

Since I started this new internship that has been much more intense than my previous one I was wondering if the days of me earning crypto by blogging were behind me but the results so far have been dramatically different than I imagined! When I would write an article, regardless of the topic, I would be thrilled if it would reach 1,000 people. My typical article would get between 700-900 hits on it which again being new at this amazed me! I was always told growing up by English teachers how my writing style was poor and so in the back of my mind, I was a little bit concerned I would fall into poor quality writing. Not because of what I was writing but honestly due to my grammar, spelling, etc.

It blew my mind when I saw on my dashboard one of my 5 most recent posts at over 2,000 views. I honestly never imagined the kid who would barely squeak by with a B in English would have that many people read an article. I was stunned when I had another have over 3,000 views followed by one with 1,500 as it was just a few weeks ago that if I got 1,000 views I would be thrilled! Even better for me at least was that with the huge jumps in views the amount I was making per post was going up as well!

Prior "good" posts would earn roughly $0.50 and if it did really good it would go up to around $0.75. I did have a couple that eclipsed $1 but those were few and far between. It was amazing then to see that in a week where I only posted 5 to 6 times I would have multiple articles earning over $2! This is with the 50% tips cuts! To be honest it was a huge self-confidence booster to see these results!

The results really drove home the point to me that while putting out content is important it is equally important to put out high-quality content. I look back at some of the articles I wrote and while I will not say they were poor quality they really lacked a clear direction. I would comment on some topic and kind of sort of explaining to the reader what I was thinking but in hindsight, I could have done a lot better of a job. I hope other writers who are working hard at this have experienced a similar boost. After all it is not about the money I earn in these posts to me as much as it is therapeutic while also lending my personal insight and feelings on a topic!
