For the last few days when I have checked Harvest Finance's Uniswap V3 DON-WETH APY and I have been amazed that it has maintained an APY of 800%+. At the same time though I was a little concerned this could possibly be a house of cards moment and there was a reason it was so high and that it was going to collapse soon. From what I have heard and read through the APY is more insulated than I thought.
A huge boost to the APY is that 20,000 DON is going to Harvest Finance as part of the partnership between Donkey Finance and Harvest Finance. This extra boost is a huge thing and at the same time is concerning. However, from what I have been told on the Harvest Finance Discord is that this boost will be running for 6 months! Since it launched at the end of September this means we are roughly a month in and that would mean there are 5 more months of this boost left! Currently, the boost provided by this is 564% APY of DON rewards alone.
That's not the only huge boost though as the Uniswap V3 fees earned are coming in right around 92% APY as well! This is one of the largest Uniswap yields I have run across but it shows how active and utilized the pool currently is! Finally, we have the iFARM emissions that this farm is yielding and those as well are at 141% as well! All together the high APY is coming from a variety of sources and this is important for the APY to remain high or at least stable long term!
While it had been battered back recently DON has been on the upswing as it has climbed to being worth over $1 apiece currently! In the last 24 hours alone the price has climbed 48% as at the end of last week, it was around $0.40 USD. I will be watching to see if DON can maintain this level or if it is going to have a pullback. It is something that if I have enough ETH I might possibly pull the trigger for but I currently have my assets tied up elsewhere.
