Earlier today Harvest Finance finally revealed their zap infrastructure partner and the Harvest team did not disappoint. For Harvest to announce this, and upon further reading into the posts by both parties, it seems that this will be implemented rather soon. To me, this can only mean that Harvest 3 is about ready to launch as well. In the announcement, before this one Harvest's Team stated that Harvest 3 would be released in Q2 which officially starts Saturday, April 1!
The partner Harvest chose for their zap infrastructure integration is Wido Labs and they do not disappoint. If you did not already know a zap is a special transaction that bundles multiple transactions into a single one. This dramatically lowers the gas fees associated with a transaction as it simplifies the process of depositing into a pool, farm, or vault into a single transaction instead of a series of them. Wido will also allow users to deposit into farms that you do not have the exact tokens for. Let's say you have USDC but you want to deposit into the APE farm. Instead of having to go and swap out the two themselves Wido will go ahead and do it for you!
Simplifying DeFi by eliminating the steps and the gas that it would cost is going to be key to fostering a truly decentralized finance economy. Protocols like Wido play an integral part in implying the process thus allowing others to participate in the growing sector. I for one am ecstatic that I will not have to deal with LPs and token swaps anymore and would much rather use a service to take care of it for me. Interacting directly with the farm that I want to deposit in my mind makes sure I do not mess anything up and end up getting the correct token to the correct address.
The next announcement I expect to see Harvest make will deal with the Arbitrum chain and the migration and introduction of farms to the chain. Only time will tell if I am correct with my guess but with Q2 rapidly approaching I cannot wait to see who they partner with and what they roll out!
