For a while, the Harvest development team was quiet, and while that bothered some people, I was not one of them. The Discord was as active as ever and the team had previously teased something big was on the way. Knowing that it only made sense that things quiet down a little bit as they finished up on whatever it was that they were teasing us with.

When they released the details of all of the different upgrades and changes to the platform that have either gone into effect already or are coming out over the rest of 2022 I have to admit I was blown away. This overhaul includes everything from a homepage (something Harvest had not previously had) to simplifying the user experience and more!

One thing that I had always found odd about Harvest was how it did not have a true homepage like most other sites. Instead, when you typed in the web address you were immediately brought to the Ethereum chain farms. Now when you type in Harvest.finance you are brought to a much nicer much more complete page. On this page, it is easy for those interested to read about Harvest's tokenomics, stats, and read the blog. Further, they have listed exchanges that offer their native token FARM, show their audits, and even provide a link to explore the opportunities that Harvest has to contribute and earn FARM. In their post, they even mention how they have had over $2 billion in staked assets yet never even had a front page! 

Harvest Grants Bearing Fruit

Over the last year, we have also seen Harvest distribute grants to other DAOs to help them in their growth. We are now witnessing these investments start to pay off! In particular, Dolomite.io is gearing up to release its DEX for margin and spot trading DeFi blue-chips. This DEX is built on Arbitrum the largest Ethereum Layer 2 in TVL and has fees similar to those seen on Polygon. In the first stage of this launch, Dolomite will host a handful of farming strategies on their end to test them out. Harvest in return will receive 60% of all gees generated by this development and these earnings will be distributed to farmers who have their FARM or iFARM staked in the Harvest Farm. 

Managed Uniswap v3 Vaults 

Last year Harvest was the first yield aggregator to deploy the new but more complex Uniswap v3 vaults. These farms have yielded enormous returns for users while also protecting their funds in ways that have not been seen before. Now they are building upon this with the announced update of Managed Uniswap v3 Vaults. This addition will be added in the next few weeks and will help increase returns by utilizing strategic range readjustments along with a time-lock on withdrawals. Combined this will help increase yields while further decreasing risk to users something that I think everyone loves! 

Thoughts

Due to the number and the depth of the updates, this is just the first part of the updates. What has really impressed me with all of this is the depth of the updates. It is not like they just added some new vaults and added a homepage and called it a day. Rather they took time and put a ton of effort into revolutionizing the experience that their users will have.
