Time flies when you are busy and/or in a pandemic-induced lockdown so I was extremely surprised for the memory notifications to pop up reminding me how it had been 6 years since my life took an enormous change with repercussions that all these years later I am still trying to process. What is even crazier to me is if I had never had this life-saving surgery not only would I most likely not be here but even if I had I would have entirely missed out on crypto! After my first neurosurgery when I was recovering my brother introduced me to Bitcoin and Ethereum and everything that they could unlock and improve in the real world.
While I was initially hesitant about this "magic money" the applications and issues that these two cryptos could solve captured my attention. By the time I was preparing for my third and so far final surgery, I was starting to invest in the two. It was after this surgery, which was done 6 years ago today, that I dove in and spent almost the entire time I was recovering, roughly 6 months, reading, studying, and investigating this industry that was starting to emerge at that point.
Six years later I could not imagine a life without crypto nor could I imagine the way it has taken the world by storm not once but twice. It is mind-boggling the prices that were reached just a couple of years ago and knowing that as adoption continues to grow the place where we will be heading. Technology like blockchain and crypto has the ability to touch and impact so many people and allow them to better leverage their skills in ways that currently cannot be done. This post is a prime example of something that would not be possible without what this industry has created.
With these 6 years down and the changes that we have all been able to witness I cannot imagine what the landscape will look like in another 6 years!
