Publish0x is announcing a switch to Optimism Newtowrk in the near future. Also there shall be a new tipping token called $OP. 

--> "New tipping tokens: $OP and $ETH. Unwithdrawn $SPOT and $AMPL balances will be swapped to $OP at a date we will announce in advance"

But what is Optimism and how does it work?

Optimistic Rollups are a layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum and other blockchain platforms. They aim to improve the scalability and efficiency of blockchain networks by processing transactions off-chain while still maintaining the security guarantees of the main blockchain. Solutions that build on top on Ethereum are called layer 2 or L2 (with Ethereum itself called layer 1 or L1). OP Mainnet uses a type of solution called an optimistic rollup.

Here's a brief overview of how they work:

1. Off-chain Computation: In an optimistic rollup, most transactions are processed off-chain, meaning that the bulk of the transaction data and computation occurs outside the main blockchain. This significantly reduces the load on the main chain and increases transaction throughput.

2. Data Availability: Instead of directly including all transaction details on the main chain, optimistic rollups publish a compressed version of the transaction data. This is done to keep the on-chain data storage requirements manageable.

3. Fraud Proofs: The name "optimistic" comes from the assumption that most transactions will be valid and honest. However, to ensure security, fraud proofs are periodically submitted to the main chain to challenge and prove any incorrect off-chain transactions. These proofs are a way of showing that a transaction's execution violated the rules.

4. Challenge Period: When a fraud proof is submitted, a challenge period begins. During this time, the validity of the contested transaction is evaluated. If the proof is valid, the transaction is reverted and the malicious actor is penalized. If the proof is invalid, the transaction is confirmed, and the submitter of the invalid proof is penalized.

5. Finality: Once the challenge period expires without any valid fraud proofs being submitted, the transactions are considered finalized and the associated state changes are applied to the main chain. This ensures that the main chain eventually reflects the correct state of the off-chain transactions.

And even more important to us, the OP-token can be much more valuable than SPOT and AMPL. Since the launch in june 2022 it nearly stagnated in value, but it had a lot of ups and downs along the bear market.
