Well, If you have not heard of the CoronaCoin token now you have! It is an ERC-20 token that stores cases of coronavirus infections and deaths on the blockchain network. This is based on the statistics released by the World Health Organization. With this, Coronacoin is the first-ever currency to be backed by the proof of death (PoD). That's right! PoD I can't help but to giggle.

As you might imagine there are a few different ways to look at this and most are not good. It's pretty obvious how this would raise concerns and moral concerns as well. Is it just a gimmick by the creators to make money? Is it a good field use test for a smart contract and it's abilities? Let's be real, people getting sick and dying is a multi billion dollar business so there are plenty of people who get their paychecks due to other peoples hardships, and not only doctors and those trying to "cure".
It would seem that there are those who do not like the idea of this even if they claim to be donating to the Red Cross and attempting to educate the public with regards to this spreading virus, because this morning I found that they have suspended the token's domain.

As of now those who do not like the use case of a smart contract with regards to a virus spreading and the destruction it causes are winning the battle.
