These past few days, I have been scouring the internet to find an efficient way to convert some crypto I had, into some crypto I needed. With countless hours lost in trying to find a way, I finally found a feasible solution. With many of these alt-coins on the rise, I wanted to secure some Theta Token to help build my balance through mining Tfuel on the Pre-Guardian Node. The problem though, was that many of the exchanges didn't support Theta Token. I couldn't buy it with fiat currency and I wasn't going to go through another verification process on an exchange just to convert it, so what was I to do?
Enter, CoinSwitch.

Is it legitimate? Well I guess there was only one way to find out lol
Purpose/ Steps
In the most simplistic way possible, you input what crypto you want to trade, then what crypto you want and see the different exchanges, which offer that trading pair. You then choose which exchange you want to use, some of which don't even require you to create an account, which truly keeps the spirit of anonymity. For myself, I created a free account with CoinSwitch, because I plan to go back later and use its services again. Also, signing up with them allows you to access many more trading pairs and exchanges.

Now following that, with the exchange selected, you'll first input the wallet address of the funds you are converting to (in this case, the Theta address I want to send my funds to). Then, you'll send the respective currency you are converting to the address provided by the exchange. Once confirmed to the address provided, the second part of the process begins, which will transfer the other currency to that respective wallet address. Going through CoinSwitch Pro, a free service, it allowed me to track every step of the process from when my ETH was being sent (going through 12 verifications), and then my Theta being sent. It almost had a "postal service tracking number" vibe to it, where I could see where it was, what was happening, etc. It even keeps a history of your transaction orders along with the input and output hash.

Literally, within 10 minutes of finding this site, sending my ETH and exchanging it for Theta Tokens, it was in my Theta Wallet.
Conclusion
I definitely feel that CoinSwitch is a really good alternative to be able to convert alt-coins that many exchanges don't offer, quickly. One of the biggest strengths is that they support more than 300 cryptocurrencies with over 45,000 trading pairs, so more than likely they have what you need. The UI is very simple and quick transaction times along with the anonymity, makes it for an overall pleasant experience and a platform that I can trust.
The only downside is, for the most part, that you will convert at market price. That being said, if you plan to HODL some of these alt coins (in my case, to use for staking), it didn't bother me too much as I see it as a long-term investment strategy. One more thing to consider, is that some exchanges do have minimum transfer amounts, such as CoinSwitch Pro, with a minimum of 0.05 ETH to transfer to Theta. I also wouldn't recommend buying crypto with fiat on this site, as there are fees associated. You'll honestly encounter less network fees with the transfers if you buy the cryptocurrency you want to convert through Coinbase, Binance, etc. and then switch it over.
