The recent purchase, made at an average price of $95,000 per bitcoin, brings the total amount invested in this transaction to $117 million.
Combined, Metaplanet's holdings are worth $1.323 billion, with an average price per bitcoin of about $86,600.
Simon Gerovich, CEO of Metaplanet, celebrated the victory with a defiant message: “We just overtook Tesla in the BTC rankings. Bolder. Faster. Harder. Elon Musk, see you on Mars.”
Additionally, the company has just raised $515 million to strengthen its Bitcoin-focused treasury strategy. This fundraising is part of the ambitious "555 Million Plan," which includes issuing 555 million new shares, equivalent to 92% of the outstanding shares, with the goal of raising $5 billion for future purchases of the currency.
The Japanese company maintains a clear goal: to reach 30,000 BTC before the end of 2025. In the long term, its aspirations are even bolder, with plans to accumulate 100,000 BTC in 2026 and 210,000 BTC by 2027.
