Bitcoin Per Share: The Innovative Metric Twenty One is Using to Surpass Saylor.

“We’re not here to beat the market, we’re here to build a new one,” proclaims Jack Mallers, head of Twenty One Capital. With 42,000 BTC valued at approximately $3.9 billion, the firm is bursting onto the financial scene as the third-largest Bitcoin treasury in the world, surpassed only by Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) and MARA Holdings. Backed by Tether, SoftBank, and Cantor Fitzgerald, Twenty One is challenging Michael Saylor’s strategy with two groundbreaking metrics: Bitcoin per Share (EPS) and the Bitcoin Return Rate (TRR), designed to redefine corporate Bitcoin accumulation.

Twenty One's strategy is based on a metric that quantifies the amount of bitcoin backing each share of the company. Unlike traditional metrics like earnings per share or dollar valuations, BPA invites investors to measure their wealth through exposure to BTC.

For example, with 42,000 BTC and 1 million shares outstanding, each share represents 0.042 BTC. Twenty One's mission is to continually increase this value, ensuring that capital raisings are accretive, meaning they boost BPS and enhance shareholder exposure to Bitcoin.

To illustrate, let's imagine a winery, Vino Rico, that owns 10,000 bottles of exceptional wine and issues 100,000 shares, so each share is equivalent to 0.1 bottle. Acquiring 5,000 more bottles without issuing new shares raises the value per share to 0.15, increasing shareholders' stake in the wine.

Similarly, Twenty One uses BPS to ensure that each share holds more bitcoin over time, reflecting a philosophy where value is tied to the asset, not the fiat currency. As Mallers states, “Our intention is to enrich shareholders in terms of Bitcoin."

BRR: Measuring efficiency with a touch of irony

Complementing the BPS is the Bitcoin Rate of Return (BRR), a metric that evaluates how effectively Twenty One's funding and accumulation strategies increase BPS. While the technical details remain partially hidden, the BRR evaluates corporate decisions, such as debt issuance or financial product launches, to ensure they enhance the value per share of Bitcoin.

Ironically, the acronym "BRR" evokes the "brrr" of central bank money printers, a symbol of inflation hated by Bitcoiners. But despite the playful association, BRR underscores Twenty One's commitment to a deflationary asset, though a rebranding could clarify its intent.

Twenty One vs. Strategy: A Race for Digital Gold

To understand the rivalry, let's imagine two gold mines. Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, is a colossal operation accumulating 534,741 BTC (worth over $50 billion), funded by $33 billion in convertible bonds, common stock (MSTR), and preferred stock (STRK, STRF).

Its scale dilutes the impact of new acquisitions, meaning that adding 10,000 BTC barely touches its BPS (approximately 0.065 BTC per share, with 8.2 million shares). Strategy's software business generates minimal cash flow, requiring complex financial engineering.

However, its shares trade at a premium (up to 80% higher than its bitcoin holdings), acting as a proxy for bitcoin for institutional investors. Twenty One, a more agile miner that starts with 42,000 BTC, significantly increases its BPS with each purchase, as its lower share count amplifies the impact. It plans to sell mining tools and courses (financial products and training), generating revenue to buy more bitcoin without excessive share issuance.

Unlike the limitations of Strategy's legacy software, Twenty One's bitcoin-centric design offers flexibility. This contrast has been echoed, with Cantor Equity Partners' shares soaring 197% following the announcement, according to Bloomberg, indicating market enthusiasm.

Why Twenty One Could Outshine Strategy

Twenty One argues that its model outperforms Strategy's, according to its merger prospectus with Cantor Equity Partners filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Its smaller scale ensures greater capital efficiency. This means that purchasing 10,000 BTC increases BPS by 23.8% (from 0.042 to 0.052 BTC per share), compared to Strategy's 1.9% (from 0.065 to 0.066). This accretive approach maximizes shareholder exposure to Bitcoin.

As a Bitcoin-first entity, Twenty One innovates with loans, debt instruments, and educational conferences, diversifying revenue to fund Bitcoin purchases without Strategy's heavy reliance on debt.

Unlike Strategy's almost exclusive reliance on bonds and stocks, Twenty One's multifaceted platform offers a competitive advantage . Its purer exposure to Bitcoin appeals to investors wary of Strategy's high premium.

With Bitcoin priced at around $94,000 and growing institutional interest, Twenty One's initial scalability and focus on adoption could broaden its investor base, positioning it to challenge Strategy's dominance.

Ultimately, the bold entry of Twenty One Capital, backed by financial giants and driven by BPS and BRR, marks a new phase in the corporate adoption of Bitcoin.

While Strategy remains a giant with its massive treasury, Twenty One's agile and innovative model could redefine how businesses adopt Bitcoin.

So, while the market watches this competition unfold, Twenty One's promise to “build a new market” could transform the financial landscape , proving that wealth, in the age of Bitcoin, is not measured in dollars, but in digital gold.
