Block Chain and the Future of Objectivity

Every day we are learning more about the unrealised potential blockchain technology offers us. Especially after a world-shaking event such as COVID, destruction often tends to be the best form of creation. This can already be seen in the massive uptake of remote work. Not only does this mean you can earn a living from your bed, but it has also left some of the most expensive offices in the world completely desolate. It is perhaps too early to say in terms of data collection, but as of yet there is no reason to believe that remote work has hindered company productivity to any significant extent, some may even speculate it has positively benefited organisation productivity.

Productivity is just the start in my opinion. Extroverts are afforded less of an advantage if they cannot be in person to show off their superior interpersonal skills, a trait that has previously resulted in greater career success in western societies according to Susan Cain in her book “Quiet”.

From a psychological point of view, apart from a handful of dated evolutionary theories, it is hard to argue that there is any positive correlation between greater interpersonal skills and competency.

Now, throw blockchain into the mix.

With blockchain comes the potential technical affordance to completely control what about your identity is made visible to external parties. This is a monumental step forward in objective progress. As a PhD student I am finding it increasingly difficult to find objective research that does not have an agenda of some kind. Part of the reason of this is that there is no real way of allowing objective criticism of the research that is published. Albeit because academia is a hostile world and making enemies via a critique is rarely wise.

Blockchain can offer the solution of complete anonymity, and with the right system of credibility checking, the unexplored waters of objective criticism are about to become a serious reality. Media often likes to drown us in messages of equality, and now we can code equality by default, and not try to force evangelical ideas onto deaf ears.

The future is bright for introverts. It will not matter who you are, how attractive you are, what gender, age and religion you may reside in. With blockchain, only the correct reign superior. To me… that sounds fucking great.
