Writing is the art of turning cliches into readable prose. A friend of mine, a writer, once told me that. So, pardon me if I start by saying that AdShares - and this is the most cliche of all cliches that ever cliched - gives the power back to the people.
I’m not 100% sure we all grasp the importance and the ground-breaking effect of decentralisation. The biggest problem with centralisation is you have to trust the central authority to do the right thing, you don’t have to worry about that with decentralised advertising.
You won’t get de-platformed. No one has the power to do that. And that’s before we start talking about good ol’ money. I know, it’s vulgar, but at the end of the day, Facebook and Google alone account for nearly 50% of the world’s advertising revenue. Wouldn’t you want a fair share of that based on the actual value you provide? And wouldn’t you want that fair share to be determined by a mathematical process that can’t be tempered with or altered arbitrarily?
I’m terrible at math but even I understand the true, intrinsic value of Smart Contracts, DAOs, cryptos: pretty much everything and anything is governed by math. No one entity, person or government can change that.
It all started with bitcoin a little over a decade ago, but what we’re seeing - decentralisation of everything and anything - might be the single most important invention since wine. Kidding. Nothing beats wine.
