Trump has recently been used as a champion and ambassador of crypto, while others point out that he only does it for the votes.

And the answer to that is, of course he's doing it for the votes? Why else would he do that?

I think we're doing ourselves a disservice by constantly overestimating politicians.

Trump is a politician, and like every other politician, he doesn't believe in anything other than himself.

Politicians believe in everything that gives them votes. That's it. Virtually nothing they say is genuine.

The Republican Party is considered the pro-crypto party simply because the Democratic Party has decided, God knows why, to antagonise crypto.

If my enemy says one thing, then I'll say the opposite.

And it's just a matter of time before democrats pivot, too.

Because their hostility towards crypto, and whether it is real or just perceived doesn't matter by the way, is endearing no one else in particular while also alienating a large chunk of the population.

There are three views on crypto.

Some people love it, some people hate it, some people don't care.

The thing is, the vast majority of people don't care. Then there's a relatively sizable portion of the population that care and like the idea, or maybe they even love it. And then there's a very small portion of the population that's vehemently against it.

Politically, in 2024, it only makes sense to ignore crypto, or praise crypto. If you say you hate it, you're losing three votes for every vote you gain.

But back to the original point.

Trump isn't pro-crypto because he he's all of a sudden realised the amazing benefits of decentralisation, he's simply realised if he says "Bitcoin is great", he'll get more votes.

Oh yeah, and the fact he's profiting from selling NFTs doesn't hurt, does it?
