The reason why assets such as stocks, gold and maybe BTC can only go up

I was a teenager between the 1990s and 2000s, which means I saw the transition between no internet and internet, no phones and phones, no computers and computers.

When we were growing up, we knew that Bill Gates was the richest man in the world. He held on to that title for years. And his net worth was always around tens of billions.

These days, no Forbes top 10 billionaire has a net worth smaller than $100 billion.

A few days ago, Musk reached a net worth of $400 billion.

Soon, we'll have the world's first trillionaire.

Why? Because inflation never stops.

It may not be a year-on-year thing, but it's definitely a decade-on-decade thing.

As a result, anything that people use a hedge against inflation, tends to go up in value.

We don't know whether Tesla, Microsoft, Apple, Meta, etc will still be where they are 10 or 20 years from now, but they are, their stock will be worth thousands of dollars, not hundreds.

And if they're not relevant anymore, and somebody else takes their place, then their stock will be worth thousands of dollars.

It's the same with gold. If you look at the chart, gold today is never cheaper than it was 10 years ago.

This is true at any point in history.

It's the same with BTC.

There's a small chance it goes to 0, if it doesn't, it'll keep going up.
