The latest call to regulate AI comes from the most unexpected of sources

By LeftFooted | bitcoinea | 8 Dec 2023

Several prominent figures are calling for a a clamp down on AI, and the latest celebrity to do is definitely not somebody you'd associate with technology.

Krist Novoselic is a name that propably doesn't ring a bell.

But his profession does.

He's the co-founder and bassist of Nirvana.

Yes, the rock band Nirvana.

Novoselic, a known activist, submitted a proposal urging Microsoft to change its approach towards generative AI.

"Novoselic will present the proposal citing concerns that Microsoft has not fully considered the business and societal risks of generative AI amid its rapid deployment of the technology," the proposal reads.

Obviously, Microsoft ignored it completely.

But that's a different conversation.
